there's a whole lot of Huddle regulars missing from the boards this year

probably for the best that it's slow because the only thing to talk about now is the upcoming draft and this place is at its worst when:

A - the draft is coming up (hey guys NC State fan here but i really think we should take McLendon in the first)

B - there's a charlotte product in draft (guys maybe we can trade back into the first and grab chris leak?) (this really was a key talking point btw)

C - not many people on here watch a LOT of college football outside their market so you get people baselessly saying they think TJ Yates will be better than Andrew Luck because he has "it" (then leave the thread) or just want the black QB.

luckily my Alma Mater didn't have a football team or else I'd be saying stupid poo constantly like Squirrel telling everyone for months that pat white was going to set the league on fire.

He would have if the Dolphins didnt rush him in. He was a project that needed two years of backing up and not playing to payoff. But he got thrown to the wolves. But you are right I usually am a big Homer for WVU kids.

To people complaining about the Huddle: You don't like the threads and discussions going on? Then chip in dammit. Make your own interesting threads and partake in some interesting discussions and voila, the Huddle will be better for it. If you think someone is being mean or you don't like the tone of someone's posts, then just ignore them. Not hard to do.

But besides, if you go to any message board of a team with a record similar to us like the Bengals/Bills/Lions, you're going to find a similar atmosphere. Losing sucks and kinda lowers the vibe. Being fans of a team that's literally a national punchline now as seen on The Tonight Show shouldn't make you in the mood for great and friendly conversations on the fan site for that team.

C'mon guy, everybody knows all the long tenured on here are longing for the days when we used to discuss whether Jake was better than Brady and Manning or when we talked about how Foster could carry the load and how Keary Colbert was going to bounce back after the sophomore slump, and how John Fox was a top 5 coach, you know, the time when all that intelligent content was being slung around.

How could this message board ever get along intelligently without posters like Solorca, who kept "Eric Shelton Superfan" in his user title till like 2007. That's back when you had to pay to have a user title. Where's Tarheelotti to write another masterpiece thread like "Oversaturated Bullshit"? Threads like those could've been woven into material with everlasting durability if they were tangible.

I usually post in the game threads during the games but I don't do it 2 often this season, cause I broke down and stopped watching streams online and paid for the ticket this season. I watch every game with the hope that we will have some chance at the end and I have been so damn mad about the FO ability to have prevented some of this I don't want me getting on here right after the game 2 make it a bitch session. P.S. ( today's loss hurt like hell)

I stopped posting a few weeks ago. A slightly major personal catastrophe drew my attention away from the internet. Add to that not being able to escape my problems by talking about how "good" my favorite football team is and you can see why the huddle would lose its luster for me.

i was looking at a few threads from this offseason, and from the 2009 regular season, and recognized a whole lot of big name posters that have mysteriously disappearance.

Not that - the best regulars left back when a major employer blocked the Huddle and then an influx of idiots on here. I can only list a handful of people whose post I'll pay attention to. Buncha Corkys have taken over.
