Whats more important to keeping the "window" open?

I will take a Good/Great QB over all of the rest. Just my opinion though.

Yea you are thinking Marino, Peyton, etc.

If you're thinking coach your thinking (insert those early legendary coaches here) or Belichick.

To me Belichick is responsible for Brady all those guys being really good.

But as rare as a Great QB is, I would say a Great coach is even more rare.

great front office.

everything on the list is due to luck if you don't have that.

a consistently great team has the right people in the right positions at the right times.

a great front office will have selected the right:

GM

who helps to select the right

HC

who helps the GM select the right:

coaching staff

players

a good FO will constantly be reassessing the situation making sure that the right people are in the right jobs every season. they will also be making sure the GM/coaching staff has the right players. best way to measure results is gauging improvement in performance from one year to the next. if the team stagnates or continually underachieves then make necessary changes to correct the situation.

Anybody that doesn't say great FO is wacked out. If you have a great FO they can assemble just about any of the other options. If you have a bad FO, they can ruin just about any of the above options. There have been examples all through history of bad front offices making jokes of the careers of some of the best players of all time that never won a super bowl. Marino, Sanders, etc.
