Games 14 + 15: Home and Home VS. New York Knicks

Ouch, this is a huge loss. Gonna be a long year for the Bobcats.

The defense this year isn't good enough and I'm not sure why. The team is leaving wide open shooters on the perimeter and there isn't as much hustle. Gerald Wallace has probably missed 4-5 layups and dunks the past couple games. He's been in a slump.

DJ and Thomas are starting to become better players but we're not winning games. Confuses me.

This team is hard to watch.

I think at this point coaching is losing us the game. Our defense game-plan is bad, as in, we're getting crushed by teams shooting the 3 over and over, game after game. We just don't have enough shooters on our team to counter that.

We lack a go-to scorer. The Knicks have Amare at the end to finish plays, we have, nobody.

When just ONE of our guys is off (Wallace) we barely put up enough points. We need a legit scorer, and until we get one, we're going to keep winning a TON of games by less than 5 points.

Props to Thomas, who had an amazing game, and showed what he can do with enough minutes. Props to DJ for continuing his assist-to-turnover goodness. Jax was good enough tonight for the most part, other than a really bad 3 attempt late in the game when he tried to shoot over someone. He's open SO much but his shot takes like 10 seconds to develop so he can never let fire.

I'm kind of ready for a new coach, I think Brown is amazing at practices and developing players, but when it comes game type, I question the things he does.

We kept our 2nd team out there WAY too long, they were getting crushed. We should not have Caroll on the team, he's horrible, if he isn't even making shots it's pointless to have him on the court.

Add another 15+ scorer to this team and our record is a lot different than it is right now.

I don't think we'll make playoffs this year, but we'll come close.

Caroll is trash and is way overpaid. He's a shooter that doesn't make his shots and someone we don't even use correctly. The fans get all excited cause they see a white guy go onto the floor.

We have HORRIBLE perimeter defense and it's killing us. Teams easily knock 10+ 3pt's on us nightly. We just can't compete with that.

Sorry for jumping in late, just finished watching on DVR. I had to double-check, I was sure I was watching a different game, since so many Bobcats games follow this same pattern - start slow, dig a hole, frantically play catch-up, get the crowd in a lather, run out of gas in the last minute, lose game.

To see guys like DJ and Tyrus lighting it up, but then hot and cold Jack is frustrating, plus Crash is way off his game. I used to say that no way is Gerald "touchable" in a trade scenario, but if it could get us a wing who is a clutch scorer, then I don't think I would have a problem with that. I don't have anyone in mind, but this team lacks an offensive spark-plug. You have to give in order to get.

    • I just want somebody to settle into that Hangartner role and I may give Mays too much credit. He played so well early and has fell off since injuries crept into his vocabulary.  He was struggling to get push on those goal line runs today.
    • You cannot say it doesn't matter who is playing QB ever in any circumstance. The first two games of the season, Bryce was standing in the pocket with time missing throws left and right. We were running the ball well, but even the gimme throws Canales was setting up, Bryce was missing. Then you start Dalton, boom easy win at Las Vegas. By week four's end, three of our best defenders are seriously injured, center injured, 2nd best veteran WR hurt, and best veteran WR quitting on the team.  Canales is a rookie head coach, and he definitely has had some see what sticks moves. But players are being schemed open, the rookies are progressing nicely, and you have the albatross of some terrible lack of talent to phase out. I give him credit alone for pulling Mingo, Thomas, and going with the better/younger producing players. The scheme is better, he just needs better players and I am not going to write him off until he gets more talent, starting with QB!
    • I don’t want this to be another Daniel jones situation.
