Size and weight arguments are weak. Tell me about skills he's missing or things he can't do. Terry Bradshaw and Drew Brees never had any problems with their size.

First he listed Quarterback in the 70's early 80's and explained they were smaller, but that the game has changed. Qb's have to be bigger, stronger, better in this age. He talked about Brees being an exception because he is deadly accurate and....blah blah blah see my other post.

He basically said that because of his size every throw is a struggle for him. His mechanics have to be perfect or own target to make the difficult throws. NFL qb's with size it is easier or effortless for them to throw those passes because of their size ect. They do not have to be able to step into every throw. Big ben, Ryan, Flacco, ect can see and opening and quickly flick them the ball. While Clausen needs to wind up, get foot planted, follow thru ect.

Bigger is definitely better, unless you're Doug Flutie. Prototypical QB needs to be at least 6'4" 230lb... Both Claussen and Moore get a lot of balls batted at the line...If you are a short QB at least be fast and quick...

Matt Moore is 6'3", which isn't short. Matt Ryan is 6'4", 220 and doesn't necessarily have a cannon for an arm. One inch doesn't make all the difference between being able to flick a receiver a ball, not have to step into throws, etc. Size is overrated. Plenty of QBs with size have sucked greatly.

I think alot of it has to do with release point.. I mean just look at this

Look at the release points while clausen might be 3 inches taller his release point alot of times is side arm and at his height.

While AE might be smaller his release point is at like 6'8-6'9. Look at all the batted balls last night from Jimmy.

Size, Arm Strength, Release point...lots of things are important but most important are accuracy and intelligence. Right now Clausen isn't accurate and doesn't look like he has any clue as to what he is doing. Cut him loose and draft Luck. He would be the first TRUE franchise QB that this team has seen. You could make an argument for Kerry Collins but its hard to be franchise QB when you're drunk all the time. Draft Luck and we will be a playoff contender every year for the next 15 years. Good times..

Why would you 'cut him loose' after one season?! He is making a small amount for a QB who had potential. Would you rather him or some random UDFA as our 2nd/3rd QB???

By all means draft Luck, but do not get rid of Jimmy when his value is at it's lowest... Let him ride the bench for another year and see if he progresses, let him sell his skills in pre-season and relief play and then see what we can get for him. I have nothing wrong with a Luck, Clausen, Vet combo. Pike likely would get through to the practice squad after this year...

As others have said, he hasn't even declared... Plus, what a way for a new coach to enter... a QB controversy on his hands as soon as he arrives...

Our offensive woes are mainly attributable to horrible playcalling and poor pass protection (and opening of running lanes if you want to go there)...

I'm not a Clausen nut hugger by any means, but I still say he is a better overall pro QB candidate than Bradford is... Put him on a team that knows how to run an offense and give the QB time to actually, you know, throw the ball... Bradford would be just as bad in our current system...

Won't be a QB controversy because the new coach will certainly know what everyone else knows, Clausen sucks.

I agree and it appears that many of the players don't care for him. There have always been questions about his leadership and we are all witnessing it. I thought the pick was great when made, but I fell off the wagon after his 4th or 5th start and still see NOTHING that leads me to believe that he will ever be more than near average. I know many won't agree, but Jake was better than average for a few years and this team was very good. We need to take Luck because it appears he is the real deal. If he is a bust so be it I for one won't be upset because atleast the chance was taken. I'm sick of playing it safe. A leap of faith could go a long way and change this teams future for the next 15 years.

Where did the questions of his leadership come from?! The only knocks on him was early in his career he was seen as a bit immature, not that people didn't like him.

Then look at how often he was put on his arse and got up time and again, performed a few 4th quarter come backs and was generally seen as a ridiculously hard worker. I just do not see the 'players not caring for him'. I think a lot of people are trying to read too much into player relations, when in actuality any season like this completely demoralises players regardless.
