It's not that I don't want Luck, I just don't think QB is the issue on this roster like most make it out be. The playcalling and poor coaching is making Clausen worse and proof is with every QB on the roster at the moment.

Imagine what Clausen could do in a real offense.

You and plenty others feel that way. It’s not the QB, just the coaching and system around him that makes the qb look and play bad.

While my thinking is more that a good QB will make a system work, and the coaching “look” better. I think the QB is the most valuable position on the field because they make everyone on the offense better, thus making it easier to coach and catch defenses off guard.

For example I believe if we had say a Sam Bradford or Matt Ryan on our team we would have a better record than we do now… while you believe no matter who the quarterback is because of “coaching” we would only have 1 win.

Just two different ways of seeing things… But that’s why people like myself are all aboard this potential Luck train.

a different offense wouldn't solve most of his problems. Tiny hands, snaps, height, throwing into the DL, slow wind up that gives defenders an advantage, quick to checkdown and scramble.

St. Pierre is garbage and rolled into Carolina w/ 10 months off and started off of 4 practices.....through 3 and half quarters he probably was playing better than Clausen did in any game. That isn't a compliment to St. Pierre.

This is actually true, and I alluded to us needing to change to some of that style of play somewhere on here recently...

I think that happens with the new coach, allowing us to use our first pick on another position...

I'm not so sure.

Among the top candidates, the only West Coast guy was Frazier, and he's pretty much of the table.

Could be the only bright spot at the end of this season though. That and a new coach, hopefully some FA's to fill spots and we may make vast improvements.

Man I hope so. Am I the only one who gets the feeling that should we get the #1 pick, we will do something off the wall? Like trade it away to draft a RB from Western Carolina to convert him to offensive guard?

where are people getting the "Clausen has tiny hands" thing or that he is short?

ok, he has 9 inch hands, which puts him below a lot of the typical QBs (But pretty close to the rookies that people like to point to and say "SEE! SEE! ROOKIE IS NO EXCUSE" so why are hands?), but I think saying his small hands have anything to do with his play is ridiculous and tries to create reasons for his terrible play when the fact remains he is a rookie playing in a bad offense making mistakes. those three factors combine for terrible performances.

shortness... is just irrelevant and wrong.

I think some people on this board aren't going to be happy with a player no matter what. take luck of course, but this guy has shown some improvement at least... hopefully a lot more to come

tell me about it.

in all honesty, i think that Luck is a damn fool if he passes up the chance to be picked #1 overall. i know not everyone agrees with me, but for Christ's sake... take the money, and finish school in the offseason or after your career.

what is he going to have to say for himself if he returns to school, and gets hurt and loses his oppertunity?

i think that Luck will declare for the draft, and i also think that Carolina will have the #1 pick, and will use it to draft him.

I know Leinart regrets it.
