Panthers new QB? From BSP to KNE

The Panthers have another quarterback on the way, and he's at least young enough that he might not need a day off after throwing.

Former St. Louis sixth-round pick Keith Null is on his way to Charlotte, and he's staying this time. That's right, the Keith Null Era is about to begin.

Null was the fall-back plan two weeks ago, when they weren't sure they were going to be able to land Brian St. Pierre. He came here for a workout, but left without signing, when they were able to talk BSP into coming in to play stable pony (a plan which didn't work out the way he envisioned).

Null, 25, threw for over 9,000 yards in his two seasons as starter at West Texas A&M. He started the last four games of 2009 for the Rams, including a five-interception hailstorm in his first start against Tennessee.

He's likely going to start on the practice squad, but a promotion could come if Jimmy Clausen isn't cleared after his concussion.
