What is this?

I bought this jug at a yard sale this past weekend for a quarter. Does anyone know what it is or what it's used for?

If that is tempered glass, I know what it can become.

That's what I thought when I first saw it. I bought it because I thought it was a unique looking piece.

I think it's blown glass cause it has little bubbles in it in places.

It does resemble a bong...could be some kind of pitcher. The hole in the middle can be filled with ice to keep something chilled. Just an idea.

I have something similar and its for salad dressing, more oil & vinegar or a vinagrette. Mine doesnt have the straw hat and its clear glass, but thats what its for. Yours possibly could have had some red wine vinegar??
