Anyone pulling for Jake Sunday?

Why would Jake start? He's 3rd string, Seneca Wallace beat him out before getting hurt and McCoy winning the position. Would they play him just be cause its his old team?

I think Jake has played around 4 quarters in 2 games, and in both games throwing atleast 2 INT's and in both cases being the reason the Browns lost.

If Mangini has any brains at all he would start Jake even if he has to roll him out in a damn wheelchair.

Did you guys not see the way Fox cried like a bitch when they announced Jake was leaving?

I would find it completely plausible that Fox would throw the game just to give Jake a W.

I can see it now, a new defensive formation where the D lines up at the LOS and then just falls down. On offense, X cross 34 Up the gut on one, every single down. If he doesn't just take a fuging knee for four quarters.

Jake and the panthers/fox love affair cost this franchise dearly. Had they been objective and acknowledged the flaws the critics noted from day one in Jakes game and not been content on him, continuing to seek a franchise qb we'd be in a much better situation today.

As John Fox would say, "Jake gives us the best chance to win."

Of course, if by winning, meaning he throws a pick 6 or two to our defense.

Regardless, the team will likely embrace the guy before the game...and if starting, will try to crush him during.

I'm pulling for him. I hope he has a great game. I also hope the Panthers have a great game.

But really, I started watching in 03, so for me, Jake Delhomme is the Panthers, and when he left, a piece of the Panthers left too.

All this talk about "he's the enemy" is just nonsense. It always seems like that to me, because in pro football, and player is as likely to end up on any other team in the offseason. It's the player's history, not his affiliation that matters. If Vick were a Panther, Id still hate him. If Tom Brady were a Panther I'd still hope his leg got broken. If James Harrison were a Panther, I'd still think he was a dirty jackass. And if Jake Delhomme were playing for any other team he'd still be one of my favorite players, and one that I'd always wish the best for. And if Jake is the enemy, by implication, our current QB stable are our allies? Ha! Most probably won't be on the roster next season. Honestly, I feel a much greater emotional attachment to Jake than any of the scrubs we'll be trotting out at QB.

I hope the Panthers win, but I hope Jake has a great game, and retires a Panther.
