If Fox were to be let go...

Mr. Scot

Based on reports, this will likely be even more academic than it already is.

Gantt believes that Fox will have his staff in place before the Super Bowl, and many sources believe Haley will be the Chiefs head coach the day after the game.

Regardless, when the time comes to replace Fox, the ideal situation would be for it to be a longtime coach on staff who's served as an "heir apparent" taking over for a retired Fox.

If we instead have a fired Fox (and a fired Hurney along with him) I hope the Richardsons avoid going for a retread whether it's Cowher, Shanahan or whomever and instead go the same route they did when they hired John Fox.

Just checking, nepotism was Marty's final straw.

Jay Gruden got shown the door in Tampa as well

In fairness, Brian's a decent coach on his own.

Word is that part of the reason Tim Lewis went to the Seahawks is that his brother works in their front office. Thought I read that someone else (Mangini maybe) currently getting set up had a brother or relative on staff too.

Funny thing. Even among the folks who want Fox tossed, I don't think anyone's discussed Marty as an option.
