Is Jerry Richardson Sadistic?

It's youth movement and prep for a possible lockout.

Agreed. But the last half of what you said is what many youngins on here refer to as "gutting the team". They see it as a "conspiracy". They just talk about it with more oomph than you, but everyone is on the same page here.

What I find interesting is that seemingly, he's the only owner that did it. Sure some teams didn't spend wildly in FA, but JR was the only one to hit his team with a major facelift.

Pair with the fact he raised ticket prices to go along with the cost cuts and you'll get all kinds of conspiracy.

He cut all the vets making high paychecks (exception being Delhomme, still paying him if I'm not mistaken). He still makes all the money from ticket sales from PSL's and opposing team fans, and doesn't have to pay his players as much as in the past.

You think Brad Hoover was making more than Steve Smith?

If the object was just to cut the high salaries, why is Smith still here?

If the object is purely a cheap roster, why re-sign Tyler Brayton when a younger guy would have been cheaper? Or why keep guys like Jordan Gross and Travelle Wharton?

Heck, they made a pretty high offer to Julius Peppers. He just didn't take it.

The theory is full of holes.
