That lying freaking Best Buy salesman told me this was easier to use than Windows, yet....How the f*ck does this work???

Best Buy Sales people will tell you whatever you want to hear to sell you something!

They are the last people you should listen to. I think it's in their handbook that they have to be willing to pimp out their Mother or Sister to get you to buy!

H H Gregg people will tell you they only have that floor model, but for $50 you can get this bigger/better product and they will throw in a 5 year warranty for the cost of 2 years.

Anyone know of any good tutorials I can check out???

I love my Mac. I use a Mac at home and a PC at work. I kinda knew how to use it when I got mine b/c my little sis already had one and I used them in labs in college.

Its not that hard to figure out...Id be happy to help out if you need.

Hey come online and play LOTOR with SLJ and I....oh sorry

Sorry but the Mac is amazingly cool at doing certain things, but it's not as stocked with software as the PC. IMHO it hides too much from the user so that whem sonething goes wrong it's harder to figure it out. And yes things go wrong on a Mac. I actually got my first certification in computers on the Mac 512k and have seen things over the decades that have made my eyes bulge because the cause was so simple if the OS had a way to let you know anything about what was going on.

I have an iPad and absolutely love it for what it is, but I don't want to use it to trpe a term paper.

I've worked with PCs and Macs for 13+ years, and what CWG is saying here is the absolute truth.

Macs can and do fug up. It's marketing myth to think otherwise. PCs will give you a much wider range of software options, and are much easier to fix if there is a problem.

Problem is, people surf their porn and horoscopes, and pick up malware on their PCs then blame it on the PC.

Trust me, enough people start using Macs, they'll hack the piss out of Safari or Opera too, and make trojan viruses and malware for the Mac too.

Or you could just buy a copy of malewarebytes and never worry about maleware again. I have never seen anything get by it as long as you are using the paid for version that actively monitors your IE sessions

MalwareBytes is good, but it's not fool proof. In fact, I've had to rebuild about a half dozen PCs of end-users I support who are repeat pr0n offenders who we put MWB Full version on their machines to try and stop the constant infections in the past year.

I would very readily riddle full of bullet holes, whomever came up with "Anti-Virus 2010" or "System Safe 2011".
