Turmoil in Tennessee

I really do hope they cut him. Fisher is not gonna take him or the Titans to the next level. Vince has his whole career ahead of him to shine and has gotten off to a great start. Vince Young is 30-17 thru his first 47 games.

Compared to other QBs who've started 47 games...

Carson Palmer was 26-21

Troy Aikman was 20-27

Peyton Manning was 25-22

Brett Favre was 27-20

Drew Brees was 26-21

Eli Manning was 24-23

The talking heads...

Steve Young was 21-26

Ron Jaworski was 27-20

Trent Dilfer was 20-27

Vince is ahead of the curve of his peers despite playing for a coach who cant do much for him except make him the fallguy. The myth of white superiority at the QB position must be protected at all costs. I fully expect people to attack Vince's character and intelligence to keep the last bastion of "hope" alive.

I'm pretty sure that's a list of good QBs that Vince Young could potentially join if he does well elsewhere. I don't see a problem here, but these expectations of yours make it seem like its the 1960s

Which one of those QBs ran away, threw their equipment, cried, wtf ever, when things got thick?

Look at McNabb. He caught all kinds of heat, addressed most of it, yet kept his cool. So did McNair, Culpepper, Cunningham, Williams, etc...hell, even Russell hasn't had meltdowns like Young, and he sucks! Couldn't hit the ground if it wasn't for gravity.

He could be immature, trapped in the closet, or battling a mental illness. Bottom line is its up to him to fix it or get help. Should he shape up, I for one would love to have him here.

The only source for Vince crying and throwing his equipment into the stands at fans is Jeff Fisher. Its amazing in today's internet age that I havent been able to find a single pic or clip of Vince doing this. Have you? Or is the word of Jeff Fisher enough? Jeff Fisher is still talking to the media 3 days later throwing his QB under the bus. He has to shift public perception that he isnt incompentent, so I understand. Telling the media Vince sent him texts? LMAO. Just the other day he said he wasnt speaking to him. Now Vince is apologizing to him via text.

I understand Fisher's dilemma though, his QB is Rusty Smith and he has to make people forget that. Fisher is no Andy Reid, he's no Bill Walsh. He's just your average defensive minded conservative football coach who's lucky he has an owner who's been super loyal to him. Jeff Fisher's football team this season is very undisciplined and fading fast. Unless he's cut (which would be even better for him), Vince Young will be the starter in Tennessee in 2011. You can take that to the bank. And there's really not much Jeff Fisher can do about it, unless he can somehow manage to bring in a better QB. Because right now, Vince is hands down the best 1 he's got, no matter how bad he tries to ruin him, Bud is gonna just go over his head again.

Rusty Smith along with Jeff Fisher are gonna be even better than they were with Vince and go storming into the playoffs.

Nothing says, "You can count on me to be a leader," like text-messaging your coach an apology.

Nothing says "come play for me I'll have your back" like pulling your winning starting QB in a game you still have a chance to win. Or spending the next week throwing him under the bus in the media to make yourself look good because your team is falling apart. Vince wisely is keeping quiet, his owner has already come out in support of him, so there's really not much he needs to say. We aint heard too much from him except "I just want to play". Its Fisher who is the one acting immature and quite bitchlike in the media right about now.

That ESPN story is a lie. They just don't want to see a black QB be successful.

Oh, but wait. They also slurp Vick's knob as well.

King Terri's brain is going to meltdown now.

No Jeff Fisher is being truthful, Rusty Smith gives them the best chance to win. LOL. He's white, so you should like him Skew.

KT, you redefine the parameters of stupid every day. You rip on Jeff Fisher, one of the few coaches who ever went to the Super Bowl with a black quarterback, as someone who is holding a black quarterback back. Maybe if Vince Young didn't come into the NFL expecting it to cater to him (ala Leinart), he might have the success that McNair had. McNair had the respect of his teammates. Young does not. McNair had the respect of his coaching staff. Young does not.

I am willing to bet you that after benching Young, Fisher leads this team on a run now.

I had no idea if he was white or black until you posted it. But since you were against him, I should have guess he was white.

I hold Jeff Fisher accountable as a coach, he sucks. McNair and Vince have been pretty much on their own under him. Can you tell me how Jeff Fisher's offense made McNair better? Or better yet how its made Vince Young better? Meat, you cant possibly be this simple. Things went to poo at the end for McNair and Fisher. He treated him like poo and they werent on great terms when he died. The huge reason Fisher has never wanted Vince is because he did not want another black QB after McNair. He wants a white QB, which is why he will show more loyalty to an 0-6 Collins than a 5-3 Vince Young. Give Andy Reid, Bill Walsh, or a Shanahan a VY and they will properly maximize his talent. Fisher is incapable. We're talking about a coach who was willing to sabotage an entire season not to play the best QB he has. And when said QB came in he went 8-2 peforming at a pro bowl level with little to no assistance from the head coach.

Maybe if Vince Young didn't come into the NFL expecting it to cater to him (ala Leinart), he might have the success that McNair had. McNair had the respect of his teammates. Young does not. McNair had the respect of his coaching staff. Young does not.

Young has the respect of his owner. He has the respect of his teammates, and the respect of his franchise. If he didnt, he would be cut. Simple as that. Fact is, Vince will make 12.5 mill next season and will start for the Titans. And the fans like Skew who desperately need a white QB to be successful for them to feel whole will hate. Bank it!

I am willing to bet you that after benching Young, Fisher leads this team on a run now.

We'll see. The team is undisciplined and is in a slump. Now that they dont have their best QB behind center, I dont like their chances against the Colts or a rising Jaguars squad.

no the owner bud adams is a texas guy. he loves v-cry because of what he did in college and is blinded by that. here in nashville i hear a lot more than you do about what went on. a lot of things are kept under wraps, they protect v-cry more than you know.

also a lot is said of a man who apologizes by text message.
