I want skill over "headline name". If the man can coach some damn good D, and if Fox will stay off his nuts I'd be for it. And it's be NICE to have a talkative coach for once...even if he was the assistant.

This likely wouldn't be a deal-breaker, but Edwards and Fox have one very big difference. Edwards loves the media and is one of the most-open and quotable coaches to ever come through the league. Although Fox isn't generally unpleasant, he says almost nothing to the media.

Yasinskas also said yesterday there were "no good coaches left". I don't buy that either.

I think at this point, herm coming here if hurney allows it...lol Is a done deal. Herm edwards the new Carolina Panthers DC. There are also a lot of good positional coaches left that we could look at as well.

I wholeheartedly agree. Whether or not Edwards becomes the new DC or not is irrellevant. To suggest that they may not be able to co-exist because one is "talkative" and the other not-so-much...grasping at straws.

He was not really talking down Edwards. He is just questioning the fit here. As long as he is a good DC I could not care less how talkative he is.

Hiring a friend for the job would be a big mistake, IMO. Especially since whoever gets the job is gonna be running the defense that Fox wants him to run anyway.

yasinkas hates the panthers, just like his fat buddy jenks did. he considers it being objective to hate and thinks that makes him seem respectable but all it does is show that he is a huge waste of money and time.
