garbage is garbage to me. not sure how you can distinguish which garbage is more valuable.

St Peter had a nice throw to Gettis. I've seen a lot of wide open WR either not throw to our missed this season. Maybe with how bad our offense is he wanted a guy who could get the quick strike.

First, Pike and Armanti can look or do any worse. Second, watching this team has been brutal enough to begin with. At this point I would much rather see our draft picks playing, especially one we traded a high second round pick for than a scrub QB who for 8yr was never good enough to be higher than a 3rd string QB, couldnt even make a roster this season, has been sitting home for 11 months and only on the team for 4 days and two WR's we picked up off practice squads.

You're right, they can't do worse, so it doesn't even need to be a debate. Armanti is a WR. Pike sucks. So does it really matter which "suck" they put in from here on out? Nope. Just because we drafted him doesn't mean he's any good (pike).

When it comes to Armanti Edwards "YES" it does matter. They traded a 2nd round pick for him and you might as well give him playing time. I am assuming the goal is to have him on the roster next season. Unlike the two guys they brought in during the season. As far as Pike goes, might as well also to see if you can develope him vs the scrub they brought in.

But I guess this all comes down really to Hurney trading future high round draft picks for reaches and a lame duck coach who could care less about developing and using players he didnt want or wont be around to coach next season anyways.

Overall I really dont care at this point. This season has been a wash and waste and I am just soooooooooo looking foward to the Fox era ending. For me its 3 years later than I would have liked, but glad to see its going to finally arrive.

I'd love to see Armanti too. But he's a WR. He is not a QB. I think they have some odd thought process that if they try him out as a QB, the whole 2nd for a WR Project thing would be a bust. They don't want egg on their face. So for now, he rides the pine.

I am saying to play Armanti at WR. At this point unless they are going to consider cutting their loses next season and keep Clowney or Thomas. I understand Thomas is now returning kicks and maybe they think Clowney can do something here. Then again it comes to a wasted pick with Edwards.

Again,,,,, if it wasnt for Fox I just wonder if a guy who was part of this rebuilding process would now be giving him playing time at WR.

Oh well... I really dont care anymore like I said. This season is garbage and a total waste anyways. Just looking forward to the new coaching regime coming in here and cleaning it up.

Pike earned the right to start....because he has been there with this team all year. Has done whatever duty was asked of him. He was the next guy up. To start a career scrub, who has never started a game, and has thrown 5 passes in 8 years in the league, and was not even in the league this year.....has got to be the most asinine decision ever by a HC. If Pike sucked, then maybe put BSP in. But there is no way that Pike should not have started. Foxy should be fired on Mon.

How did he earn it? Being on the team since the beginning of the season , doesnt qualify as earning antything.

Unless you have reason to beleive that a rookie from a spread offence in Pike couldve done decenclty better (which there really isnt) then there not alot of logic to calling asinine. Both wouldve sucked.

He earned the right over a career scrub because he has been with the team. And a couple of games ago he got some reps. Shaky at first but he looked decent after a few plays. He should have started. If he did not produce....send the Saint in. A career scrub is not going to lead any team to victory after 4 practices. Don't have to be a good coach to know that.

Based on what? Nobody earns anything by "being here". Thats not a justifiable reason. Yo earn it by proving or talented enough to. Nor Pike nor Pierrie proved either, so Fox opted for the Vet.

A third string rookie with few snaps is not going to lead any team to vicitory either.

Bottom line is both were going to lose in bad fashion, so why is it so asinine if the result would be the same?

What has Pike done to earn the starting job? Get drafted? That wasnt his choice. Throw a ball in practice? Look at a playbook? Be on the team? Play in a real NFL game? BSP got signed too, threw a ball in practice, looked at the playbook, and is also on the team. The only thing you have to go on is seniority. And while Pike may have it on this team, BSP has it in this league. But both are below average and will always be below average. Minus the few late round hits in recent memory like Brady, guys get picked in the 6th for a good reason. Scouts get paid to do a job. They, for the most part, know talent. If Pike had it in abundance, we'd never have had the chance to take him when we did. But you go on thinking Fox did this to screw JR, screw some of the very players he's loved the past eight years, and screw the fans.

    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
    • Well, we got our answer on Army today.
    • Not a chance the SEC could compete with the NFL.  In the large cities that are not in the Southeast, (LA, NYC, Chicago, SF) College football is an afterthought.
