After one: Ravens 10, Panthers 0

Well, that went pretty much as expected.

The Ravens are off to a 10-0 lead after one, moving the ball easily on a Panthers defense that can't possibly keep this team in this game.

Baltimore scored on a two-play drive right out of the chute, with Joe Flacco hitting T.J. Houshmandzadeh for a 56-yard touchdown pass.

Next time out, the Ravens had a grind-it-out 13-play, 84-yard drive which netted a short field goal, but took seven minutes and 18 seconds off the clock.

You don't want to give Brian St. Pierre too many chances.

Amazingly, the Panthers offense is struggling to move the ball, despite the best efforts of their new quarterback.

They're not asking him to do much, and he's completed a a few short ones. Mike Goodson has a few nice runs (including a 45-yarder), enough to make him a conversation piece this offseason.

But the results are familiar. One their first third down, Goodson lined up for a direct snap, which went over his head.

It's that kind of day.
