Panthers not happy "Campers"

The mass exodus of the Panthers’ defensive coaching staff apparently didn’t have anything to do with Julius Peppers’ complaints about Carolina’s scheme.

ESPN.com’s Pat Yasinskas, citing sources close to the situation, reports that several of the coaches were miffed that the Panthers took so long to offer them contract extensions. The offers didn’t come until the last few days, which the coaches saw as a sign of disrespect. They felt the new offers should have come before the playoffs.

Defensive coordinator Mike Trgovac, defensive line coach Sal Sunseri and defensive backs coach Tim Lewis are all gone. So is linebackers coach Ken Flajole, but he got a promotion to become the Rams’ defensive coordinator.

Now, head coach John Fox isn’t very happy, which gives him something in common with his star defensive end.

It would be hard to be happy. You lose everyone who trained your positions to be dominant.

Even if the last 6 games where abhorrent, our defense was 2nd in the league for a long time 10 freakin' weeks. That is not easy to replace.
