Love the player but we have to figure out what the situation is with all the character flags. If they adequately answer those, I am all for it.

At the end of the day, we will never be privy to the behind the scenes character vetting processes.

You may hear rumblings from unofficial sources after the fact but that's about it.

6 schools in 7 years or whatever it is for a guy with his talent level is one helluva red flag though. When problems keep following you around you'll probably find the real problem in the mirror. At the end of the day, wherever you go there you are.

I think that just depends on the issues. It's definitely a big red flag but we don't see the full picture. It could be really bad or it could be not as bad.

Could be as simple as him not having the right people around him or it could be he is a selfish, me-first asshole.

At this point, we just need to have full faith that our franchise will absolutely due it's due diligence to vet all of these players and to do a thorough evaluation of them as football players. Then we will make the completely incorrect decision.

He played in 3 different HS. 1 in Mississippi, and 2 different cities in Tennessee.  Could just be parents moving for work

If you think you have a team culture that can mitigate some of his issues then absolutely spend a mid round pick on someone with so much talent.

Just don't be the least bit surprised when it fails because all those other stops along the way were probably thinking that same thing.

It's the hot girl mugshot mentality. "I can fix her" they all say. LOL

Sure but if we don't pick him we'll just pick another midround Keith Taylor or Daviyon Nixon to wash off the team in a season or two anyways

If the Panthers go DT in the first Rd , i think the pick should be Mason Graham or Kenneth Grant, depending  which one is available.

I personally like Kenneth Grant a better than Mason Graham because he is a little bigger and supposed be the stronger of the two..

I am an Ole Miss fan so i was surprised by the character red flag issues. I posted those on our college board and other fans don't remember them either. In reality, Kiffin was noncommittal on answers as to why Nolan did not return to games. That could be for injury, strategy, time off or all three.  The notion he went to five schools is ridiculous when he only went to two colleges (A&M and Ole Miss) and I don't blame him for leaving A&M.  I remember him playing hard and being a good teammate.  If Kiffin and the DC can give us assurances, this would be a great pick but probably later than 8 given the recent b.s. rumors and projections.

Odds are that one of these two busts. Seems like anytime there's two DL on the same draft out of the same school it turns out that one was the real deal and the other one was riding his coattails.

I mean, NTs are already basically a unicorn. You're looking for a guy who is big enough and strong enough to hold up snap after snap with two 300+ pound NFL athlete technically proficient people movers trying desperately to move you off that spot. That is a HARD guy to find that can hold his ground snap after snap in those scenarios. It's the trade off of the 3-4. Teams love it because it puts more speed on the field and 3-4 OLBs are easier to find than 4-3 DEs but that NT is a hard spot to fill.

Right…to me that’s the spot you have to have to make that Defense work. Or an offense that puts up points fast enough that the other team can’t just run it down your throat ha
