Why it's a dumb move - Part Deux

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

I think you have a media that is reporting any trash they want. Why wouldn't they? Fox has never given them any gold mines. They also know fox will continue being fox, dispite what they report.

If there was a mutiny going on....ya wouldn't have to wait for the media to report it. It would be a bigger mess than dallas.

Once again. Think even scot is grasping at straws.

Agree, the beat writers don't like Fox because he purposely gives them the "it is what it is" answers. If you've ever watched a Fox press conference it's very uncomfortable. Fox is nothing like that in person, he's very friendly and engaging, he doesn't like the media.

I think Gantt is blowing this whole St. Pierre starting thing way out of proportion with the mutiny accusations, etc.

What makes Gantt or anyone else think a 6th round rookie from a spread offense and a D2 guy that was drafted as a WR are so far superior to a guy that's been around the league for 7 years that this is mutiny?

St. Pierre hasn't played much (or at all), but he's practiced and had the benefit of NFL coaching for 7 years... that counts for much more than most people think.

The bottom line is that I just can't get that excited about this because I think we lose this game hands-down with St. Pierre, Pike or AE... so why does it matter who we have out there?

.. or Gantt could be blowing up over the idea because it's functionally retarded to start a player of St. Pierre's talent (none) after less than a week on the team.

Nah, kidding. St. Pierre is going to erupt on Sunday because omg Warner stocked shelves.

How is it any more retarded than starting Pike? He's great now because he played 37 snaps? What the hell did he accomplish in those 37 snaps that makes people think he can start and win a game?

Fox is fuged because the FO took away his ability go after, or to keep the players he wanted in the first place, not because he thinks St. Pierre may give us a slightly better chance than Tony freakin Pike.

I don't remember the team ever being this bad with Jake. Yeah, he looked bad but we were still competitive. It was easy to second guess Fox at the time, but it's pretty obvious now that Moore wouldn't have been any better long term and could have been worse.
it looked better last year when he wasn't playing than when he was playing.

jake isn't the missing ingredient. this isn't the same team and i'm not just talking personnel-wise. this team as a whole is lacking focus and most of it has to do with a lame duck HC who can't get his team together and has no long term vested interest in them. it has an offense that in incapable of adjusting and adapting to the players that are on the field. it is the same offense that fox has always wanted to run and he has calling the plays the guy that he hand picked and kept. it doesn't matter to him that the players he now has doesn't fit into what he wants to do. he's going to do the same thing, run the same offense every week, reagrdless of who they are playing and whether or not it fits the players on the teams sklillset.

jake wouldn't fix this. he wouldn't even come close.

it doesn't matter how many f'ing snaps Pike took, he's been here all year...

players live for a chance to start, to play. they practice from day one to play. they fight, claw, learn, commit, trust in each other and their coach, for a chance to play.

to bring in some guy who has played so little football that is he eligible for a practice squad yet has been in the league long enough to be considered a veteran and have him start over a quarterback who has been with you for the entire year...

I just don't understand it... it's not like BSP is some veteran presence... but the guy he was competing with had a year head start, and apparently still fell behind... or Fox rigged it.

This is either the biggest condemnation of a rookie I've ever seen, or Fox really likes BSP... or he's saying "F you" to the "personnel department."

Yeah, it looked better for a few games last year, but that doesn't prove that Moore would have been better from the beginning, like people have been claiming all along. I mean, look at Moore now. I was and still am a fan of his, but it's pretty obvious now that he wasn't ready to take over for the long haul.

or maybe, last year's TEAM was so much better that even a SLIGHT upgrade at QB would have worked miracles. Hell, I was looking back at some of last year's recaps and I wondered how many more we would have won if Jake had just not turned over the ball on one drive per game...

this isn't about Moore, this is about Fox's stupid decision. Say what you want, but part of a great coach is utilizing what talent you have available. Throwing players under the bus by saying you don't have any is not exactly what I mean there, either.

My God people. David Carr took had more experience in our offense than Vinny did too, but he still sucked ass. Pike has done absolutely nothing to prove that he should be starting.

so now BSP is Vinny T? Haha, yeah. A guy who has had such a storied career that at 31 he can still go on practice squads is nothing compared to Vinny T. Vinny was a leader and as much of a coach as he was a player. He was brought in to provide stability to a volatile position in hopes he could help a young quarterback corps.

He also didn't come in until after Carr struggled I believe.

lol people are still trying to make a case for delhomme

this is what happens when your FO mismanages the QB position going back years

Not trying to make a case for Delhomme. Just pointing out that there is a possibility that Fox actually knows more than a bunch of gomers on a message board who have never coached in their lives and don't attend the Panthers practice and meetings every day.
