One factor to consider in reference to Fox behing a "hot candidate" in 2011

You were the one talking about a team with no talent, so you brought up another subject first.

And anyways the Panthers have always spent their cap all the way up to the line, so that shows you are the hater and maybe you can jump on the Cleveland Browns bandwagon, since they are an up and coming team.

Yes I was making a point to the dude, so it was relevant when I brought up lack of talent...I would hope a person with a brain could understand that but I guess I gave you too much credit.

And Carolina might have spent all the way up to the line, but that just shows how dumb the organization is. You are spreading the money around a ton of mediocre to bad players and you are getting a 1 win season. I'll take a couple of players with max contracts that will get me some wins and have a big impact every single week.

Carolina is my team, but I am not blind to them. And yes it is nice to see the Browns do well, but I'd never give up on Carolina and switch teams.

We cant agree on anything, but we share the same fav team, I know you hate that but you'll get over it.

Ok, fine. Last year the current second youngest team in the league got their second win in week 15. And because they weren't actually the youngest last year, that changes everything.

BTW, I wonder how we would be doing if Aaron Rodgers was our QB and we didn't have an obvious lame-duck coach.

My post was actually stating how coaching is most of the big deal. Last years Chiefs represent us. Last years Packers represent the Bucs. The Chiefs have a pretty good QB in Cassell yet due to coaching their whole team looked bad and they ended up 4-12 (just look how well Cassell was with the Pats and compare it to last year). We had a pretty good QB in Moore but somehow due to coaching he looked bad this year and Clausen hasnt looked that much better (along with the rest of the team) and now we're 1-8. Freeman and the rest of the Bucs look alot better this year due to coaching and now they're 6-3. We have the tools, our coaching is killing them.

Coaching has been decidedly poorer this year. But so has execution, so has personnel moves, and so has our injury situation. I personally believe they all go hand in hand.

No one is giving it their all because no one believes that there's anything to build for. Fox is doing the same job he always has, just not as hard (and his pressers are decidedly different). The players know they'll be in a new system next year. All the assistants know that they need to find new jobs next year. On the field there's no leadership left. Everything got turned upside down this year--some of it starting in 08, some last year, and some this off-season.

Pin it all on Fox if you want, but it goes far, far deeper than him. And whether you like him or not, don't be surprised if he has a head coaching job next year.

And back to the original point of the thread, JR has been silent this season, just like most seasons. He's always been a class act. Don't expect him to throw Fox under the bus. That would be completely out of character for him.

And then you get a team like the Colts, take away Manning and they have nothing but a bunch of mediocre or average players who have a QB that makes them look good. I'd rather have a whole bunch of above average players that play like a team and play better than they are, than a team that loses one player and is done. Nope, all your money in 1 or 2 players is stupid. You can't judge the Panthers on this year, and you should know that.

All this talk of skill players and coaches. We suck this year for 2 simple reasons. Our lines on both sides of the ball have flat out sucked. The O line hasn't blocked the run game near as well and has gotten every QB in the game killed. Our D line can't get pressure on a QB or stop a running back without blitzing or slanting the linebackers.

So why is the youngest team in the NFL considered one of the toughest in the NFC yet the second youngest is the worst in the NFL? Coaching.

talent...heart...not coaching...cant coach heart...we dont have much talent outside of a few fan favorites..most guys on the roster who start would be 3rd string at best on other teams

now.........
