Here's why St.Pierre is starting QB

They seem to forget all the reports that he was a poor practice player and the fact that he was never good enough to take the reigns from Jake.

The coaching staff had no faith in Moore from the very beginning, and that proved itself this year.

Yes, but Moore was also good enough to take the reigns back from Clausen. I know he's a rookie, but that doesn't exactly bode well for him. The guy is by no means a lock to be our starter next year.

OK CRA, you know better than a man who's been coaching for 20+ years, and Pike has definitely shown in games and in practice that he can get it done. You are obviously an expert who can also read Fox's mind.

Fox is a flawed coach. He is a flawed coach in a lameduck year that is now irritated. Just b/c people hold impressive jobs doesn't mean they don't make painfully obvious wrong moves at times.....ego, emotions, relationships etc. effect everyone in life (even head coaches).

Do you not understand that a rookie is still a rookie even if he has played a little bit? St. Pierre has been in the league and has learned several different offenses while learning the QB position from some of the best coaches and players in the business. He has thrown a thousand passes to some of the best WR's in the business and has studied thousands of hours of game film over a period of years. I don't care that Pike has had a few more snaps in garbage time than St. Pierre, he's still a know nothing rookie who is a project, at best.

So our choice is the know-nothing vet or the know-nothing rookie?

We're going to lose. St. Pierre could start, Pike could start, Edwards could start, it's not going to matter. St. Pierre won't be here next year, Pike might be.

And seriously, his learning from the best/throwing to the best receivers had him as a perennial 3rd stringer with less actual game time throws than our 6th round scrub. Oh, and practice squad eligibility at age 30, which is an awesome mix of sad and funny.

Matt Moore had also been in the league 4 years and hadn't made the coaching staff fall in love with him.

St. Pierre's been in the league eight years and hasn't made any coaching staff fall in love with him.

But they want him to be.

That's the point.

"They" might not even be here next year. Well, certainly Fox won't.

Do you guys really think Fox knows anything about putting the best quarterback on the field by now? Or furthermore, do you think he knows anything about developing a quarterback or preparing them for success?

He got as much out of Jake as anybody else could have. And like I said before, no Jake Delhomme led team was ever this bad, so maybe Fox actually knew a little more than any of us.

St. Pierre won't be here next year. Unless he does something miraculous.

And they doesn't include just Coach Fox. It includes the entire FO, which will be hiring this "new regime" as you put it.

And yes, I believe the Coach knows more about NFL Quarterbacks than you or anyone else on this board. That's irrelevant however. Especially considering how well our "savior" Moore played when people finally got their wish.

Yes, but now you're talking about the entire team. You'd be hardpressed to convince me starting Jake Delhomme over Matt Moore was the right decision in 2009.

Why?

Because of the Cardinal playoff game?

Jake had a good year that year, and that was coming off an elbow surgery.

There was no reason to think he would spontaneously drop off.

I can understand benching him after a few games into '09, but benching him after one bad game in '08 would've been silly.

I would have probably benched him after the first game that season against Philadelphia, to be honest.

I would've waited two at least to see if he just needed to shake of the memories of the playoff debacle.

We as a fan base didn't do much to help the issue either after the game (we tore the poor guy to pieces), but I guess that can't be an excuse for an NFL QB. He never used it as one either, so, I'll give that to his credit.
