This is all Hurney's fault for drafting a QB to Late

There was no way to know Carr wouldn't work out. He had all the ability in the world. Just couldn't get it together. Not making an honest attempt for a franchise QB is inexcusable. Think Brees wouldn't have come here if we had tried?

Miami tried, and they were guaranteeing him a starting job.

Might be recycled, but the truth remains, Hurney has dodged more bullets than not with his first round drafting. Not to mention a ton of guys in the second and third rounds that also never worked out as QBs for the teams they were drafted by.

It's a lot like canteloupes... very rarely do people know how to pick a good one, but if you can't do that, it's really important to be able to NOT pick a bad one. He's done well at that and that list above has some very good names on it that we did take instead.

Can't blame Hurney for that. Nor for the QB coaching. And we have stayed out of Cap Room Hell throughout his tenure... although there has been some tap dancing now and then.

Or, maybe he does a good job at evaluating young QB's and knew to stay away from the flops in that list.

Like others have said, we passed on Flacco that's it. I actually prefer that the guy didn't waste a first round pick on many of the sub par signal callers we passed on. And why are we ignoring that he just drafted a guy that many people had projected as a franchise quarterback? I know we're bad, but can we not make stuff up to be outraged about?
