There is logic in rooting against Panthers victories at this point

I understand that people still want to see us win. And I get that some people still want to cheer their damn heads off. But does anyone else laugh when they still do the same gameday traditions now that we're we're 1-8? They still have the same player introductions, with the fireworks and the drumline; they still have those game break segments where they want you to get out of your seat and dance and show your spirit; they still put Make Some Noise on the big boards, etc. At some point you just have to stop with all that happy nonsense. If we win, great, we win. If we lose, great, better draft pick options are available to us. I'll cheer when we make good plays and all...but damn, acting like we're 8-1 is a bit sad sometimes. lol, if I was the PA announcer I'd be like, "Welcome the visiting Baltimore Ravens." Then I'd be all, "Um...yeah...here's these other guys."

You just went full retard.

In defense of going "full retard", allow me to respond:

The purpose of playing the game of football in the NFL is to win the Superbowl. If I'm wrong on that, then nothing else I say will make any sense, and I will accept full retard status.

Let's look at the league's SB Champ QB's since 2000:

2000 Rams Kurt Warner (Undrafted)

2001 Ravens Trent Dilfer (6th Overall Pick, different team)

2002 Patriots Tom Brady (6th Round Pick)

2003 Buccaneers Brad Johnson (9th Round Pick, different team)

2004 Patriots Tom Brady (6th Round Pick)

2005 Patriots Tom Brady (6th Round Pick)

2006 Steelers Ben Roethliswtf,ever (11th Overall pick)

2007 Colts Peyton Manning (1st Overall Pick)

2008 Giants Eli Manning (1st Overall pick, *different team)

2009 Steelers Ben Roethliswtf,ever (11th Overall pick)

2010 Saints Drew Brees (2nd Rounder, different Team)

Soooo, looking at this, there are two first overall picks who managed to win a SB in 11 years, only one of which is actually playing for the team who picked him (Read as, if we pick him first, and he wins a SB with another team, what's the point?). (Both were named Manning, so that might be a clue as to a name to look for). Anyway, explain to me how this, in any way, should compel myself or anyone else to want the 1st pick of the draft so that I can get a QB. Hell, the random 6th round pick and the 11th overall pick seem to be the best performers, and winning the rest of our games this year isn't going to keep us from having a shot at either.

Furthermore, of the following, only one has even sniffed a SuperBowl:

Sam Bradford

The Golden Calf of Bristol

Matthew Stafford

Mark Sanchez* (sniffed it, but not quite good enough)

Josh Freeman

Matt Ryan

Joe Flacco

Wtf, over?

There exists no logic in wishing for your team to lose. Draft picks are draft picks. Look at the franchise quarterbacks around the league. Not all of them were drafted 1st overall. In fact, most franchise players aren't even Top 5 picks. They're just products of good scouting.

If we finish with the 1st overall pick or the 6th overall pick, it's not going to make an ounce of difference if we can't scout properly and pick the wrong guy. For every Peyton Manning, there are two Alex Smith's, David Carr's, JaMarcus Russell's, and Ryan Leaf's.

Tthere is no guarantee that luck will be the qb many think and project him to be.

Ya also don't have to pick #1 overall to get a franchise qb.

Montana

Brady

Brees

Flacco

Big ben roth

And many many others.

So spin things however you want to.

Ya either want to team to win, or don't. But don't sit there and try to justify your desire for the tea to lose more games just for a player. That is weak sauce...and there is no logic in it.

You can't possibly be this stupid.

Are you REALLY calling those first-round QBs since 2008 bums for not having "sniffed" a Super Bowl? THERE HAVE ONLY BEEN 2 GODDAMN SUPER BOWL CHAMPS IN THAT TIME SPAN.

I mean, are you realizing that you're judging Sam Bradford for not having won a Super Bowl yet? Jesus, am I being punked?

No sir, you are not. However, you are offering up completely unproven, less than 3 year guys, as proof of a reason to tank the season in order to get a number one draft pick, which I think is ridiculous, as much as for both factual numbers, as it is for current standings.

Nobody knows what's going to happen next in the NFL. There are projections, objections, and the multitude of mock drafts, but the bottom line is this: They've got to play a few years before you know what they are capable of in this league.

(admittedly, I'm trying to rebound from being "full retard", so give me some slack brother... First pick of the draft ain't a guarantee.)

ETA: are you calling those QB's great for having accomplished nothing of significance?
