There is logic in rooting against Panthers victories at this point

That may be true, but excuse me if I don't rejoice in the fact that my team sucks so badly that they pick first in the draft.
not a matter of rejoicing. it's looking for the silver lining.

i've accepted the fact that we suck bad enough to warrant getting the #1 overall. i really didn't see that happening, but here it is. i'm not upset by it anymore. now it;s just a matter at looking at what can make the team better.

looking at the big picture, as much as it sucks to have to go through this season, getting the #1 overall could be an incredible thing for the franchise.

For some reason this season I keep expecting myself to just give up on us and stop watching, but then 12:30 Sunday rolls around I'm starting to freak out as to why it isn't one yet. My friends think I'm crazy because I still yell at the TV and pitch hissy fits when we lose......it's not logical, its fandom.

Meanwhile, the Lions still blow and Mark Sanchez and Josh Freeman look like better picks for better team and for far less money.

in a few years all those early picks made by an FO that has a clue will pay off. they'll be serious playoff contenders before too long.

I'm not rooting for the Panthers to lose, but if we're going to suck this bad I'd like to see us get the #1 overall pick as a consolation prize.

If nothing else, it means the national sports media will be forced to mention the Panthers for a few months.

How awful would it be to have the # 2 pick and watch the team with the # 1 pick draft Luck and turn him into the next great franchise QB?

I have a sneaking suspicion that Luck isn't going to declare this year. He'll stay till he gradumates.
