This is a really nice cop-out seeing as he is making his wr corp a lot better than they really are, calls his own plays--which would negate Jeff Davidson's shitty gameplan, and has a quick release and makes very quick decisions which takes a ton of pressure off of the no-names blocking for him, outside of his center.

If the Panthers pass on Harbaugh, they still have the option of finding a young assistant coach who is currently already in the league being groomed for a head coaching position, unlike Jim who would be making the step up from college to the pros just like his QB.

If they pass on Luck, they're stuck with Clausen and Pike as the potential future at the position.

It's really not a hard call.

I would rather have a new NFL head coach with something to prove, like Harbaugh, but if I had to chose it would be Luck. I think Cowher would do just fine.

He’s physically mature, he’s mentally mature. He’s got a rare talent. So I think he’ll decide what to do and what I’ll advise him is to do what’s best your family, do what’s best for yourself.

He’s got two great parents that will help him in that regard, as well.

-Q: If he’s 1-2-3 in the draft, that’s so much money. Can you make a case for him to stay in school looking at that kind of money?

It’s not anything… it’s not always designed. It’s coached, but I don’t want to take away anything from him.

-HARBAUGH: Yeah. I want to keep it instinctual for him. You can over-program quarterbacks.

-Q: You said years ago he reminds you of Tom Brady. You saw this.

i really like harbaugh's philosophy on the bolded part which makes me think even more i would love to have them both here together. they already have that trust in each other that needs to be there. harbaugh won't micro-manage like foxy does and i think there is no better coach to get luck acclimated to the NFL than harbaugh. it just makes sense to have them together.

Only downside to that is if Luck comes out throwing 2 TD and 7 INT through a few games we know Harbaugh would stick with him like Fox and Jake. And the argument of "letting him mature a couple years" would be invalid since the same wasn't applied to Moore or Clausen.

i seriously doubt that harbaugh would have the same complacency that fox has shown. harbaugh gets too pissed at losing.

anyway, how is that a bad thing? peyton didn't exactly light it up his first year. i don't see a problem with letting luck ride it out a couple years if he struggles a bit. hopefully it won't take long for the team to improve around him enough that the panthers can be competitive quickly. even if it doesn't happen overnight, i'm fine with it.

it all depends on what the next HC wants to do. it is going to be his team, let him make the decisions. if the next coach wants to work with clausen, fine. if he'd rather go with another QB, thats fine as well. i don't want the next HC to be stuck with a QB that he doesn't like, want or won't fit into his system.

if we had an established QB entrenched into the job, i would be more inclined to stick with who we have. if we had spent a first rounder on a QB this year i would probably want the new coach to stick with him for a while as well.

we don't have a heavily vested interest in clausen or any QB right now. there's no reason to stick with a QB on the roister right now just because he's here.

i'm not recommending doing what gruden did for years playing musical QBs. i don't recommend doing what several failed teams (like ours this year) have done with switching QBs each week. pick a guy and stick with him. i just think that decision should be made after this season is over and by the new coach with whoever he wants that to be.

Really had to think about it for a while, but I'd take Harbough. He was doing great things before Luck was on the field. But yeah I'd like the combo better.

The team still doesn't know what it has in either Moore, Clausen or Pike....really need a quality offensive minded coach..... I think Clausen can be molded into a fantastic WCO QB, so I'll go with Harbough. With the 2nd pick in the NFL draft the Panthers select AJ Green.....
