Rob Ryan as Head Coach?

Being that most people think that JR won't go for another 'big name' guy, but instead go after a up-and-coming coordinator... What would you think about hiring Rob Ryan as the head coach?

I thought he took some criticism last year and maybe the year before for the performances of his defense, but it could've been personnel problems... It seems the Browns have stepped up this year, and people are now paying attention to Ryan as a potential head coach.

I don't think its completely necessary to get an offensive minded head coach. I mean, even if we get a defensive guy like Ryan that doesn't mean we won't hire a good OC.

I would think you guys would want some sort of offensive mind. Your defense is not really the problem and I do not think the guys really have a leader to rally around with the array of rookies that are switched out every few quarters. 2 Quarterback systems just do not work in the NFL. I would grab an offensive coach and go for a good rookie in the draft and you guys will be just fine.

And no, I don't want Rob Ryan. Just because he's a "Ryan" doesn't mean a damn thing. He needs more years calling the shots like he is now before he's ready for the big time job.

I like defensive minded coaches, Rob has a legend for a father, grew up in X's and O's and is a good motivator and communicator.

His age may be the only set back in Richardson's eyes.
