I think Hurney will be back though. He and JR are pretty close.
I kind of disagree right now bro. If JR wanted to resign Hurney he would have done it by now. Hurney at this point is getting paid week to week until other wise. But if JR decides to sign Cowher in the offseason to be HC. You know for the fact the Bill is going to want complete comtrol of the GM postion and HC postion together. To have total control over the team to get his team to where it should be at.

But you could also point out...Gibbs, Phillips, Mora, Turner...
Turner is currently the HC of the Chargers and want be in the HC FA pool so scratch him off the list. Wade Phillips are you kidding me. He just failed in dallas with all that talent and did worser the Fox has done. Mora failed pretty much point blank. Job Gibbs is very old and never even did any good for the Redskins when he was HC a few years back. Gibbs better stick with his Racing deal. Cowher is the mostly likly best deal out there currently for Carolina. Please also no College HCs neither. The past 8 years any HC that came straight from college to become a HC for a NFL team has failed big time. Not going to happen.:(

You guys are too hung up on the word retread like its some horrible thing.. dick vermeil and bill belicheats were both retreads that won superbowls.. so yeah.
:yesnod: Very true indeed my friend. Some coaches work out and some don't Retreads or not. It all depends on the coach and the coaching staff the GM and the players and the HC schemes. Retreads are just as good as young HCs. But the thing is sometime old better then new. Just like old whine. It gets better with age.:drool5:

Not hung up on a retread because you bring up 2 valid coaches. I get paid for preformance on my job so should the coach. Last thing we need is knucklehead like George Seifert who would be grossly overpaid for nothing. I think everybody should be paid on performance... we would weed out a lot of cock fks that don't take care of business. Hope thats in the new CBA...

From a player on the roster: Cowher will be the coach in Carolina. He has bought a house in the area, was given a private tour of the facilities prior to the season, and was offered the job. Cowher accepted and it's only a matter of now or next season.

I've held on to this for a month so it looks like it will be next season. Take it or what it's worth, but he has been dead on with other information he has shared previously.

 So you are comparing Bill Cowher to George Seifert?? Seifert won 2 SBs on a talented team left to him by aHC name Bill Walsh. Bill Walsh built that Team of Steve Young Jerry Rice and the rest of that talent and left it to Seifert and Walsh stayed with the 49ers as GM for years after to help keep the talent coming. All Seifert did is coached that talent team and he won. Seifert came to carolina and was handed a broken old team with Sam mills kevien Greene and other guys. He tryed to build off of that for 2 years and failed. Bill Cowher in his 15 years with the steelers had 10 winning seasons went to the AFC Championship title game 6 times, won his division 9 times in 15 seasons and went to the SB 2 times and winning one of them. So trying to compare Seifert to Cowher is like trying to compare a 20 year old broken down car with a brand new one. Doesn't make since. Plus unlike Seifert Cowher has more then proven he can build a team and win. If Bill was to come to Carolina. I ain't expecting him to win the first season. Because the first season is mostly going to be a strip down and rebuild year for Carolina. But in the second year I would expect alot more from him no less then a playoff birth and maybe a SB aswell.:Chevy_anim:

Is there any way to stick a single post? I'd like to leave this at the top of the list for the next few months just to see.....

If I remember correctly before bill cowher took over for the steelers they only made the playoffs once in 7 years... 7 years guys!! for cowher to rip off 6 straight playoffs after all of that is incredible.
