Lots to consider when picking a location for a data center. NC is relatively safe from natural disasters/terrorist threat and still has access to reliable power grids. Makes it fairly attractive to companies.

Also has moderate temperature extremes, something I read was important.

It is expected to use as much electricity as a city of 50,000 people. And the cost here is good compared to other locations.

We have Google to the county north of me, and now Facebook to the county south of me. I guess Burke County is just too metropolitan for them.

Good for them. It will bring a lot construction jobs, but unfortunately Data Centers don't have many permanent employees.
