New QB coach. Rip Scherer

What's funny, is that so many people here have already decided that this is a great hire just because he's not Mike McCoy.

What's funny is like you and Cyberjag are the only ones still nut hugging up on our old staff.

Has Jake gotten better over the years?

Do they want someone to try to get Jake better?

Or do they want a new coach for a new QB?

No one here likely knows the reason, but you sure as hell can't get worse than someone who has brought nothing, or produced nothing.

We won't know which hires were good for a couple of seasons, but the Panthers are ready to move on from those we didn't try to pursue from our own staff.

If you think it is a bad hire, how about coming up with something aside from "oh my god people are so wrong, don't be excited you don't know how these guys will do"

What was so good about McCoy to you? You like Jake never throwing it out of bounds? What did he do to warrant a defense from anyone?

I'm not hugging up to anybody. I just don't get the hatred. Mike McCoy didn't make Jake Delhomme what he is...Jake made Jake what he is. He was already a veteran who was pretty much set in his ways when he came here. McCoy never had a rookie 1st round pick like Matt Ryan to work with, so I can't really judge his ability to develop a QB one way or the other. I do find it ironic that he left here on his own free will and got a promotion out of it though.

True, maybe our HC is about to fired? Who knows........

Maybe Fox is a complete moron, hell some of us say it IS Fox.

Something is wrong, you can't deny that. So what is it?

You gotta start somewhere and if this ultimately leads to Fox getting his ass canned, then it is just the start of a very good thing IMO.

    • It's just a burden to throw a dart if you're so green. Dan has his work cut out for him.
    • Basically, we'll take Walker if he is there...unless someone wants to move up. We're not gonna get jobbed; we will be more likely to do the jobbing, as it's always the team moving up that has to give up the goods. If we trade down, I'll feel good about the actual trade. Now wether I'll feel good about our actual acquisitions is another story altogether, but some gems will be there for the taking (and, yes, I can absolutely see us acquiring two EDGE rushers if they are deemed as the best players available at the time).
    • This thread is entertaining, I'll give it that. This year, unlike most, I don't think anyone knows what will happen. What I do believe is that we're going to get the same relative value that we'd get in any other draft. Now we may not get the exclamation points, because they may not be there, but I do believe we'll get some players with a high degree of potential who will, at the end of the day, represent the same value of players as any other draft. This class will produce talent, just like any other draft, you just have to choose the right guys. This draft will be business as usual once all is said and done, watch what I'm saying.
