The Beason Hit & Fine... Illegal hits of Week 9

I have to see a replay. I was at the game and it looked like to me Beason hit him with his arms first.

The Sharper hit was a ruff one but I can see why it was not an illegal hit. That is one of those cases where the RB or WR is going low.

If they're going to flag because they are on the side of caution then they should throw a review flag or something instead or a penalty flag. Let the play go under review and determine if it really is a penalty. This way you can at least keep the refs from cheating your team.

One wonders if Goodell and his group is using this STUPID fine system to build up funds for former players .

He keeps saying their needs to be something done for them !

Just like NASCAR he is going to keep tweaking the rules and issuing fines until he starts killing his fan base due to a piss poor product

See, I see where they are coming from to a certain extent, but they are taking it too far. I think in much of the NFL, hard hits have replaced tackling people. The goal seems to be to hit someone so hard they don't get up from it; this is a problem. On the other hand, if in the process of tackling someone you also hit them hard (which is IMO what happened with Beason's hit) it is not as big a deal. When the body becomes a weapon, you can cause some serious harm; but football is not a soft game, so hard hits of any kind shouldn't be discouraged.

Let me clear up all of this confusion on illegal hits for you guys.

If you hit another player hard enough to make people go "Oh, poo!" and that player is a WR or QB who is a "star" on his team, then the hit was illegal.
