If there was a great DT in this draft I would agree but theres not. Each DT out there has a red flag or two. Darius played in a 3-4 and Nick Saban has not produced one good NFL player, Fairley was MIA for pretty much his entire career until this year. The difference between those two and guys that will probably be there for our 3rd round pick like Marvin Austin or Drake Nevis is not great at all, there is a ton of DT depth in this draft but not an elite guy. Luck, Peterson and Green are pretty clearly the top 3 players in this draft with guys like Prince and maybe a guy like Bowers below them. If you have a top 3 pick you take the best player you can get. If we are going to draft a DT with our top pick we should trade down.

I think there is a huge drop off from the first two DT too the next ones.

M.Darius and Marvin Austin are worlds apart.IMO

Actually go to any draft forum and they are basically the concensus top 3.

LOL, a lot of these draft sites have Jake Locker in the first round when he can barely play QB. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that these draft sites arent run by experts, especially since none of them actually work for NFL teams. And the actual draft NEVER plays out the same way in real life as it does on the almighty internet so Im not in a rush to take any of these rankings too seriously.

So to clarify, I think those three players are awesome and might be the consensus of the internet, I'm not sure theyre necessarily the consensus top tree picks of people who actually matter.

Jake Locker needs to be able to sit a year or 2 under someone like Peyton Manning, or Tom Brady...if not and he starts right away, he'll be the next Brady Quinn
