Impact of Change at the Defensive staff

So how much does it suck for some people here that Trgo rejected the Panthers offer, and they didn't fire him? I mean, we were supposed to can his ass, not make him an offer and get turned down. What a crock, huh? :)

I think he's going to go somewhere else and build a top ten defense.

i think he was offered a pretty crappy 2 year deal and he rejected it.

and, again, i don't care if he builds a top 10 defense anywhere. he couldn't get it done here. it does us no good to have someone here if they can't make the defense reach it's potential.

the defense wasn't living up to it's potential so they had to change.

Maybe the reason the D coaches all left is that we did live up to our potential.

Homer fans always think there team is super talented.

We are weak along the D line and Peppers is leaving. Before we got Kemo he was criticized by Ray Lewis publically about not keeping linemen off him. Our secondary was exposed late by both Arizona and New Orleans. Even with Pep we need to insert some talent. Who knows that better than Trogo and the position coaches. We were actually more aggressive on D this season than we were under Del Rio. Maybe they were tired of trying to smoke and mirror there way through with this undertalented bunch of players.

this is what concerns me the most about these moves. only fox knows the answer to that

if anyone had any kind of idea if this was the case, it'll be Fox. the fact that so many defensive assistants left eliminates the possibility of him promoting from within. if the staff knew about it, i would think the assistants would line up at the chance to receive a promotion and a pay increase

question is would anyone, in light of this, will be willing to work with fox? this goes back to my 2nd question. this will look bad regardless for fox imo.

Fox has noting to do with contracts thats the GMs job for the Panthers. With the talent on our D I would be willing to say a up and coming Defensive guy would love to take the rains. Like wise an Fired coach would also like it to show he could be a head coach again. Fox wants to win and all he ask of his DC when coming to Carolina was to be psychical. IDK I mean we dont play conservative on offense till we have a lead that is at least two TDs and then Fox expects his D to break the other teams spine from then on. I dont like it but it dose make since in a way you dont end up giving in back on turnovers.

the staff got jobs elsewhere because they had to. the panthers didn't really want them back. most they gave permission to go look elsewhere. if an employee is valuable to you, you make sure they come back. you don't tell them to look for a job somewhere else.

no other reason.

everyone jumping ship at the same time without being fired and most just taking the same job some where else is weird and seems to imply that something bigger is going on in the panthers. But what is it that's making everyone jump ship?

the panthers rocked the boat and made them jump.

You are doing the same thing with Trgo that you did with Henning. Trying to make it look like a mistake he is gone. On offense we have a better offense this year than Henning ever had on any team he was a coordinator or a head coach since the 80s. Davidson as a first time OC in his second year built a better offense than Henning could in five years. And this time Davidson did it without a roided up offensive line. In every category the Panthers were better than the Dolphins this year as well.

Now we should all be sad Trgo left. Frankly who cares if he builds a top 10 defense elsewhere. He hasn't had a top 10 defense in the past 2 years and this year he didn't have the excuse of a poor offense that couldn't control the clock or keep them off the field.

If it is Fox holding him back then why didn't Fox hold him back in 2005 and 2006. And can anyone believe that Fox took a defense that was top 5 through the first several games and decided to screw it up during the bye so it would get worse and finish 18th. Why would he mess with something that wasn't broken.

Trgo is alot like Henning. When they have lots of talent to fit their scheme they are fine. But they can't adjust what they do to fit the talent they have to maximize it. So they both are in trouble under less than ideal situations. And they don't have the ability to fix things when they start to go bad.

Look at who left. Sunseri after the defensive line was pretty weak this year and terrible last year. Lewis left after our secondary looked incredibly poor although they are more talented than we have had in some time. He also left right after Trgo left. He knew that with another DC he would be gone.

The only one on defense who got a promotion was Flajole who got promoted to DC.

As for Trgo he knew with a 1 year contract and no Peppers and poor results for the past 2 years, that he was on thin ice and could be fired next year. This way he leaves on his own terms and stands a better chance of landing on his feet. Otherwise he gets fired and can't get a job anywhere. I figure he knew his time was up and he left while the getting was good.

except we offered him a two year deal. But yea he probably would've gotten fired after next season if we had another sub par year.
