Here's hoping Edwards gets a start at QB this year

they did... which is why I am hesitant that either of them will do well. To be honest, I think Armanti has a better chance because I think he is physically gifted in a way that would allow him to extend plays. However, his height is a concern for me; people say "it's just an inch" but every bit of it matters.

I'm not saying don't give him a shot, and I'm not saying we have a great option on the roster, just saying I don't have high expectations and hearing that he is better than Vick before he's played at all kinda annoys me.

Our QB performance would get worse? You really just said that? How is that possible?

They would have to change the play calling to suit his abilities since he hasn't been practicing under center in a run first offense, and I know the creativity involved is beyond our coaching staff. But with both our starting runners out, they have to do something.

You really think our staff makes a gameplan to play to our players strength? I mean once stewart goes out they keep mike goodson running up the middle non stop....etc...

Exactly what do you want them to do to adjust the playcalling and take advantage of our strengths and playmakers?? Run the fuging triple option....

You're just being obtuse.

If they run him out of the shotgun it minimizes the vision problem with his height and gives him more room to throw over extended arms, while running quicker developing routes. They don't have to run him in an option at all. The kid can throw with accuracy and strength, those attributes were never an issue.

Right but running out of the shotgun spread formation works oh so well in the NFL. Slow developing run plays don't work on a consistent basis in the NFL. See almost every third down draw we have ever run for proof. So by playing out of the shotgun you have essentialy negated some of our biggest weapons....

I don't think anyone here wants him to be any less then Steve Smith or Desean Jackson reincarnated' date=' but he isn't a QB in the NFL and our QB performance would get much worse with him under center. Did the kid even take snaps under center his entire career at App.....[/quote']taking snaps under center is overrated. sure, it's good to be able to do it, but it isn't necessary.

Who Goodson? Those biggest weapons are hurt last I checked. They don't have to run him out of the shotgun all the time, you know, just more than twice a game on 3rd and 25.

so let me get this straight:

If the Panthers are able to abandon their offensive philsophy, completely change their scheme, redo most of their plays, and get some guy who had been getting reps at WR in at QB, we'll succeed? this is mid season, remember.

because that's about what you guys are suggesting.

If Edwards can't be under center, he can't be an every down QB in THIS offense right now.

So they pass from the shotgun and run from under center.....yea the opposing defense would never get the clue....
