Why passing the buck was a dumb move

Mr. Scot

I think actualy he thinks he is "the poo" he said in an interview- I'm doing an excellent job of getting the ball back or something of that nature

Even the relatively humble guys who get to this level of football have confidence bordering on cockiness. That's not necessarily a bad thing.

(unless you think you're better than you really are) :(

That's what my job is for.

They're still human.

Would you work for a guy who told you to your face that you were doing a good job then went behind your back and said "Hey don't blame me if the product is bad. This guy sucks"

i would and i have. it's the nature of hierarchy, and even if it's in bad form to say it, it doesn't mean he's wrong.

I have too, but I'm not a professional athlete who's used to having everyone cater to me and virtually worship the ground I walk on.

There are probably few tasks in sports as hard as coaching guys that are in the basement. Say the wrong thing and you risk losing the team.

I find it terribly ironic, that dispite scot's worries...this team is still fighting.

That dispite the issues...and there are many...that this team is still fighting hard.

Don't need to look any further than the dallas team. Their great defense hasn't shown up for 3 weeks now.

Say what ya want about fox, but his players play hard for him.

To bad they couldn't eliminate mistakes for him.

Now injuries are to the point that the offense doesn't stand a chance of being good this year. Maybe I'm wrong on that.

And good luck to the chance of bringing in a coach worth a damn this last off season. Not sure any coach would have wanted to sign up.

Had to stick with fox more for need, than desire.

I'll still miss fox when he's gone.

Hope his replacement gets better results.

the season's only half over. we're reaching a point that officially it doesn't matter anymore. we just lost a couple core components and it was just this week that fox made his comments.

things can change and i'd be a whole lot more surprised if it didn't.

I will still defend Fox. Lame duck coach whose owner decides to let go veterans.

Bullshit....Fox is at fault for this fiasco as well.

Owner who decided to get young and cut costs.

Players who are not executing...some from beign so young.

Coach who has done absolutely fuging nothing to help his young players succeed. He refuses to change his offensive philosophy to put his young QB's and WR's in the best possible situations.

Look at what Cleveland and St Louis are doing. Short passes...three step drops...use the TE...use the RB out of the backfield. Instead, it is the same run the ball into the line (9 man fronts) and line-up for 3rd and longs.

Richardson and the players are not off the hook. But, Fox has done less than a piss poor job adjusting and coaching.

Well, for a change I disagree with you Mr. Scot.

If Fox had back to back winning seasons just once, I'd jump on board with this. As it stands, unless things turn around, his tenure here is going to end with a career record of 77-75-0, two flubbed play off runs, and a Super Bowl loss.

He kept Delhomme in too long last year, in what might have been our last chance at a playoff berth for some time to come. He's been stoic in his approach to the game and the fans, and his his play calling has been blasé and predictable for years. He's a businessman first, coach second.

That's not great coaching IMHO. Barely decent is what I'd call it.

And this team hasn't had his back since 2007, when the locker-room imploded, Smitty was fist fighting other teammates, and Jenkins was calling people out.

my only question is why would Richardson think Fox would participate in the beginning phase of a full-scale team rebuilding effort. I mean the guy isn't even that good of a coach when he has the talent to work with. It might have something to do with Richardson thinking Fox might be able to redeem himself, which at this point is utter foolishness. I mean poo or get off the pot, either he's your coach or not and logically he really shouldn't be your coach

Indecisiveness killed us. One thing I blame Richardson for is not getting this rebuilding going sooner

Foxy is pissed he didn't leave when given the chance after last season and realizes he's failed in preparing a young, talented team for a season in which his precious 7-9 goal was certainly attainable. He's embarrassed his players and himself for acting like an unprofessional litre bit@h.

Noted, but it's kind of like when a judge says "the jury will disregard that statement". You can't un-hear it.

Not sure that I heard what you did then. He wasn't criticizing the team simply saying he wasn't in charge of personnel. Frankly the press always skews things to find a story, i think a lot was made about a comment he has since clarified.

I agree that some players have not quit, however some Panther players have yet to show up. Fox has been stuck in a bad situation for the past 2 years, I think he expected an extension after last seasons late surge. He should have bought out his contract and saved his reputation, but by making those stupid remarks out of frustration he probably ruined any HC job for a while.

Did anyone notice towards the end of the game...Charles Johnson was livid after his sack because NO was throwing on 4th down.
