Jerry Richardson apologizes to the fans

I'm past the point of being angry at JR. Rebuilding this team will require a lot of spending in FA. We need a proven pass rushing DT, a good veteran RT who can also play RG if needed, a veteran QB who knows our system, and and an above average veteran WR to play our #2 opposite Smith. That costs $$$$$$. The rest we can pick up in the draft after we trade down.

If Hurney comes out with this "We're going to build through the draft, the WRs available had their best years with other teams, we have a tight budget..." talk then we're going to be terrible for several more years. JR is sorry, but he had better open his wallet and prove it. Money talks.

That's it?

REALLY?

THAT'S ALL HE HAS TO SAY?

This is f**king hilarious. We are witnessing one of the crappiest teams in the full history of the NFL right on our home field every Sunday. Everyone on this board has been screaming for JR to say something, ANYTHING. And he reads 4 prepared sentences to the press who are not allowed to ask any questions. And now many of the same people are saying "Well, at least he said something."

JR has squeezed your balls so tight by never speaking to the media so when he finally loosens his grip in the slightest by making a statement like this most of you sigh and say "ahhh, that feels so good Mr. Richardson".

You people really disappoint me.

We don't get along well at all, but you nailed it. You and Jbro seem to get it.

I'm not sure the comments were even prepared. It seemed to me, from the way Sorenson spun it, at least, that he was the one that called Richardson. Hell, people might still be waiting for a "public apology" if not for Sorenson's call.

Everyone knows JR is conservative, and "not a media dude", so it's really no surprise that he hasn't said anything before now, except maybe privately one-to-one with some fans over the phone. But maybe a line was crossed on Monday with Fox's presser, and he felt he could walk a little more on the wild side and say something publicly, albeit watered down, and the opportunity was ripe when Sorenson happened to call. Either way, he took the bullet Fox shot his way with the "personnel" comments by stating he "takes full responsibility" for things "not working out". But for those expecting "action" backing up those words before season end, I will be surprised to see that happening.

I'm sure JR IS sorry about the way this season went. And now that he's actually stated that, I'm sure it will make some people feel better. Others, obviously not - they want blood, and maybe their season ticket money back.

Would have been nice to hear that he accepts responsibility for this failure for handcuffing Fox, but at least he acknowledged the fans. EAT poo JERRY!!!

jerry may have given fox lemons, but fox's job as HC is to make lemonade out of them.
