How do we know that Hurney really wanted him gone though? Just yesterday, they were, supposedly, ready to re-sign Trgovac.

I'm beginning to wonder if anybody's job is safe, including Hurney and Fox.

Yeah, I'm having a hard time mustering the excitement over this news since he's quitting (and was wanted back) . . . More info's needed before I decide if his departure is necessarily a good thing.

This whole situation is bothering me. He was ready to sign a contract extension just a few days ago, now he refuses the contract renewal. Combined with the other assistant coaches that have been jumping ship, something deep down inside of me feels like there is something very wrong with this team internally.

Don't get me wrong, I would have loved to see him get fired, but him saying no to us is just plain strange. I hope this gets resolved. I'm waiting for some even bigger news in the next weeks.

There was probably something in the fine print that they couldn't live with. That way the Panthers Look like they had nothing to do with the coaches jumping ship but get them out of the way. Bring in the new Defense! If it doesn't change Pep's mind it can't hurt the fans opinion.

I still think its Fox's philosophy that is the root cause of the defensive problems. If he doesn't change then it will look like the same 'ol same 'ol on the field.

and, to throw my completely meaningless opinion out there, i think the panthers wanted to clean house a little, but didn't want to look like reactionary assholes by firing the whole staff. i only say this because of the articles saying trgo was fully expecting to stay in charlotte on like tuesday. so maybe they offered him a contract so bad he had to refuse. i hope so, anyway.

either way, this is a glorious day!
