Sam Mills Fan World Exclusive: John Fox to the Chargers a near certainty

Potential fines, sanctions, draft picks, whatever penalties could result from tampering....and you just happen to know this from a guy who knows someone?

We've all heard the arguments before when random people claim to have inside sources here. I addressed this particular one in my original post anyway, but again, it doesn't really bother me if people don't believe me. I don't think I've ever believed anyone that's posted anonymous things on here before myself, so I get it.

best card trick ever: hold out the deck and have someone pick a card, look at it, and stick it back in the deck. shuffle the deck thoroughly, making sure that there's no way you have any clue where it actually is. then randomly cut the deck, flip over the top card, and call it out loud as the right one.

you have a 1 out of 52 chance of getting it right, but if you do you're going to look like merlin.

Almost a no-lose situation. Only the person picking the card actually cares enough, that everyone else will have forgotten the picked card. So when it does not become true(4 months down the road), it will be all but forgotten. If the card hits, now who feels like they are some sort of genius and may try to remind people, who won't care anymore then than they do now.

That pretty much leaves only SD because if Coughlin wants to be HC next year he will not be removed.

There always the chance that Coughlin retires again or if NY stumbles down the strech again that he could get fired.. Say if NY losses its last 5 games and misses the playoffs...its possible... I will say that if SD continues to suck, then I think Fox will probably be the next HC there.

Fox ain't getting a HC gig next season. At the end of the day a 1-15 coach who wasn't wanted, who never had back to back winning seasons........is a tough sell as a new hire as HC for 2011.

Fox will be a coordinator.....just like most HCs who fizzle out.

Marty Schottenheimer...14-2. Where is he now? John Fox 1-15...Head coach?

According to my source close to Fox, the San Diego Chargers is the team he wants to coach next year more than any other. He's from the area originally, thinks highly of owner Alex Spanos and Philip Rivers, and is already looking into real estate in the San Diego area. Barring a deep playoff run by the Chargers, Norv Turner and GM A.J. Smith are going to be axed at the end of the season opening the door for Fox.

Due to potential tampering issues, Spanos and Fox haven't had any conversations directly, but all signs behind the scenes are pointing towards Fox heading back out to Cali.

You heard it here first. Screenshot this beyotch, feel free to laugh and point at me if it doesn't happen. But my source is rock-solid.

I've never once claimed to have inside knowledge. Only when my uncle claimed that he saw Michael Vick at Charlotte-Douglas.

That is a fact that we did have Vick here and if we would have had any sense we would have signed him.We did come very close however.

I'm not an expert on Fox at all and I just have one question. If he were against the 3-4, which has been implied here, why would he go to two teams (Dallas and SD) that currently run a 3-4 defense and have the personnel for a 3-4 defense?

This doesn't make sense to me.

On a side note: Fans on this board are way too obsessed with where players/coaches grew up. "We should sign ____________, you know he went to elementary school in NC" and so on. We are like the anti-LeBrons. We care too much about our local products and others' local products.

It isn't unreasonable.

Your track record on the other hand...

summed up well

as for going to the 3-4 if he was against it.. he doesn't have to keep it.. but if Ron Rivera managed to stay, he has ran both defenses.. besides, Fox will be given some room for that type of transition..

it being a 3-4 wouldn't keep him from the job.. it may play a factor, but it's not going to be the sole factor..
