Sam Mills Fan World Exclusive: John Fox to the Chargers a near certainty

best card trick ever: hold out the deck and have someone pick a card, look at it, and stick it back in the deck. shuffle the deck thoroughly, making sure that there's no way you have any clue where it actually is. then randomly cut the deck, flip over the top card, and call it out loud as the right one.

you have a 1 out of 52 chance of getting it right, but if you do you're going to look like merlin.

Didn't Fox come from a military family? Wouldn't that explain being born in VA Beach and growing up in SD? lol

And yes, I believe this is the most likely scenario. He's not a Dallas guy. And after his time here, I'm sure he wants to head back to his hometown area and finish out coaching... Quite honestly, after what was done this season, he deserves whatever he wants.

Best of luck Foxy!

I have called out people in the past that have claimed to have sources tied to the team in some way, so I'm not even going to attempt to justify myself anymore because I'll look ridiculous. If you think I'm lying, that's your decision and I won't hold it against you. I certainly haven't always posted in the most respectable way on the Huddle. Just make sure you screenshot this thread either way so we can see who's right come January. ;)

Fox ain't getting a HC gig next season. At the end of the day a 1-15 coach who wasn't wanted, who never had back to back winning seasons........is a tough sell as a new hire as HC for 2011.

Fox will be a coordinator.....just like most HCs who fizzle out.

This is the Chargers though remember. They hired Marty Schottenheimer after he flopped in Washington and then hired Norv Turner after he flopped everywhere he had gone as a head coach.

According to my source close to Fox, the San Diego Chargers is the team he wants to coach next year more than any other. He's from the area originally, thinks highly of owner Alex Spanos and Philip Rivers, and is already looking into real estate in the San Diego area. Barring a deep playoff run by the Chargers, Norv Turner and GM A.J. Smith are going to be axed at the end of the season opening the door for Fox.

Due to potential tampering issues, Spanos and Fox haven't had any conversations directly, but all signs behind the scenes are pointing towards Fox heading back out to Cali.

You heard it here first. Screenshot this beyotch, feel free to laugh and point at me if it doesn't happen. But my source is rock-solid.

Potential fines, sanctions, draft picks, whatever penalties could result from tampering....and you just happen to know this from a guy who knows someone?

A lot of the "experts" are saying Fox gets a job off the bat and is considered in NFL circles to be a top 10 coach... So it wouldn't surprise me that he gets a HC job if he wants one.

I'd say the two most likely spots would be NYG and SD for him, could also consider Cleavland or Dallas. However, more then likely he'll end up in SD or NY as a HC.

What makes you think Coughlin is going anywhere?

So this means maybe we can get both Wade Phillips AND Norv Turner? Wow, we just hit the lottery with this one!

Time to dump Rivers from you fantasy team. Hard to get 300yd 4TD games when you hand it off three times and then punt.

Actually those two would probably be a good OC/DC combo. They would just need a good HC to let them do their thing.
