Why did so many people go to the game?

Check the attendance numbers at the dome from like 1989 - 1999. There were some pathetic attendance numbers in there for years.

I vehemently disagree with the OP.

Actually, in a 2005 (before Katrina) study of NFL attendance the Saints were ranked number one in the league for average attendance per victory from 1967 through 2004 with 76,088 per win. Cleveland was second at 75,721 while the Steelers were last at 46,307.

I really would like to know the attendance figures from 1987-1992, though. The Saints had one of the best records in the NFL over that stretch (5 winning seasons and 4 playoff appearances) and I remember the crowds being pretty darned good.

Judging from my television, at times early in the game the stadium seemed to have a decent number of folks in it. Especially considering a 1 win team was playing in cold weather.

I'm sorry guys but this is the wrong approach. Please do us all a favor and stop going to the game. This is like people complaining about Modern Warfare 2 then you go online and it has the most players of any game ever online. Who will listen to complains if they don't feel threatened by their consumers?

If you want to see Jimmy Clausen checking down and throwing the ball away next year, go to the game. If you want a better product on the field, do us all a favor and stay home.

We go because we support out team through thick and thin.....you pathetic little fugtard.

no no no....first you are supposed to complain about band wagon fans and then you are supposed to complain about people that support their team through thick and thin....keep up damn it!

PS...not going to the game would also support the don't buy gas theory too, so it's really a win/win!

speaking for myself, even given the shitty state of the team going to the stadium, knocking back a few beers in tailgating, eating some friggin good bbq and soaking it in with your friends is still a pretty good experience such that it makes you almost forget the panthers don't know what they're doing on the field, not that i have the means to go because i live like 550 miles north but if i did that's how i'd treat it.

i'm not going to talk about it's because "i'm a PANTHER FAN, ON THE REAL YO", it's kinda like jerking off

Why did so many people go to the game?

Because of all of the people that own the Panthers Stadium Timeshares.

They used to be called an investment when ticket prices were reasonable, and demand for tickets was high. Now 14 years later ticket prices have tripled, making most of the PSLs nothing more than a timeshare with a huge maintenance fee each year.

You know the tv commercials are just around the corner....

"Turn those Panther PSLs into cash"

PSLs were never advertised, billed or expected to be an "investment."

It drives me crazy when people talk about PSL's as an "investment". Even on the local sports stations they call them that. Maybe that is part of the reason why 1/2 our fan base sucks so much because they werent really football fans to begin but just bought their PSL with the hopes to make money on them. To me buying the PSL was an entertainment expense, just adding to the cost of owning my season tickets. Since I will own these tickets for the rest of my life, when you ammoritize the cost over many years the extra dollars it cost per game is insignificant. Of course it does suck you have to come up with that money upfront, but that is the reality here. I bought them with never intending to sell them but to pass them down to my kids.

If somebody bought the PSL as an "investment" they bought them for the wrong reasons anyway or what did they think would happen to the value in years the team sucked??
