CHARLOTTE, NC—Early in the third quarter of last Sunday's game against the Saints, Carolina Panthers quarterback Matt Moore saw something terrifying and inhuman in the defense and called an audible, the visibly shaken quarterback later confirmed. "I didn't like what I saw out there, because, I swear to God, this thing had huge claws and fangs," said Moore, who frantically ran up and down the line of scrimmage pointing and screaming, warning his teammates about the ghoulish beast, and yelling "blue 32 falcon." "If I didn't change the play, then that thing—whatever the hell it was—would have killed [running back] Jonathan [stewart], because it was right in perfect position to rip him to shreds."       I'm not religious. I don't care that he is. It has no impact on whether or not he will succeed as a head coach in the NFL. If he doesn't work out here so be it. I'm not wasting keystrokes going off on tangents about his personal life. If I were that deeply invested to that point I wouldn't even be following sports at all. Clearly for whatever reason you do as the previous threads you have created eviscerating Dave Canales over that and his personal life would clearly indicate. But that's your prerogative.

      The approach we took to build the WR room is one I will always be miffed by. I’ve never liked our draft choices and it always leaves me feeling uneasy (even back to LaFell/Gettis/Armanti). I loved Pearsall and Ladd, but those just aren’t types we target for some reason. RB wise - Just seeing what Bucky Irving has done this year with guys Canales’ built his offense around last year, is enough to really make the RB approach seem questionable.  If we were unsure about Chuba preseason, then we should’ve gotten a guy who could’ve played immediately. If we were confident in Chuba, then we should’ve targeted a Ray Davis, Irving, Tracy, Guerendo etc a bit later and reserve the R2 capital for a potential long term starter.  The reasoning doesn’t entirely check out even though I love Brooks as a prospect.  I dunno, just still feels off. Same taste I got with the Horn pick. Same with bringing back Hurney. Just a big old ick.

      I don't have anything against this kid, but personally I would not draft yet another big physical WR.  Besides, this point is moot after Ashton Jeanty cut this promo after the Mountain West Championship.  If Dan saw this, the pick is already in.
