Why bash Pike, guys? We suck. When you suck, it doesn't really matter what level of suck you are, you're still gonna suck.

So what's wrong with starting Pike for a few games? It's worth a shot... and if you shoot around in the dark long enough, you're bound to hit something eventually. If it doesn't work out, it's not like we've lost anything.

I'v been saying this all along, that Clausen is not ready. They need to start Pike, at this point Moore is hurt, Clausen constantly gets benched. They might even bring Armanti for 3rd string.

I liked Pike in college, and thought he was a better QB than Clausen coming out of the draft. So when then panthers got both of them, it worked out good, because Moore is not a certain.

START PIKE~

:( Another stupid post by CRA

why don't you try using big boy words and make an arguement.

The rookie excuse doesn't fly w/ Clausen. McCoy and Bradford look significantly better and they don't have more talent around them.

again, Clausen just doesn't belong on a NFL field right now. Putting him out there repeatedly isn't going to make someone that bad better magically....

watch a colt/Bradford game you will see a lot of short passes and a run game..

Do you see that here?

I see a QB that struggles getting snaps, handing the ball off and sitting in the pocket to even attempt basic throws.

Actually the rookie excuse does fly. McCoy and Bradford have the backing of the coaches and have QB friendly offenses. Our offense is a JOKE. Our oline is playing like garbage. The Browns have Hillis and the Rams have S-Jax. WE HAVE SUTTON. Bradford was handed the keys to the offense and got all 1st team snaps. Building a rookies confidence and calling plays to allow them to get comfortable in a game is important. Our OC and coach has basically tied Jimmy's hands and gave him the ok to do nothing but hand the ball off.

Pike was junk in collge, what magic is going to happen to make him good in the NFL?

I'm fine with 'saying uncle' on this season and giving Clausen more reps to just make sure he sucks this bad in case we haven't already came to that conclusion. BUT, Pike deserves reps as well.

I'm not saying he's going to be amazing, but after the draft I made a Pike thread and said I thought he had the potential to be the best QB out of the 3 we had then (not counting Armanti lol). After seeing what he did yesterday, he looked better than Clausen and may have looked better than Moore. He at least makes reads and lets plays develop and he appears to know where to go with the ball - going through the progressions. Clausen hasn't appeared to do any of that yet.

He deserves the opportunity. I also think in this sh*t storm of a season, Armanti deserves a shot too, but they're gonna have to work him into playing QB again now.

And as to your point Kurb, I don't care what they did in college. Sure, Pike was certainly helped by the system at Cincy, and didn't do a whole lot outside of last year... BUT, Clausen had an outstanding college career according to some AND had the benefit of playing in a pro offense while he was there... So, how has that benefited him now? Tom Brady was a 6th round pick with a sucky college career as well... It's not a determinant of their pro career, as Clausen is showing us lol.

Clausen struggles w/ such basics what does a QB friendly system do for him? I mean if he takes a hr to wind up to throw a 5 yard hitch........defenders are gonna know what is going on and either bat it at the line or get a break on the WR. That is if he gets the snap and opts not to scramble out of the pocket.

Sutton played in ONE GAME to date for us. That comparison has no meaning.

Colt didn't get a chance with all 1st team snaps. 1st start was against Pitt and Clausen has never even had a game that impressive against much weaker defenses.

I remember when I called out the QB situation back in the first couple weeks I got flammed. Now you guys can witness your beloved Matt Moore and Clausen sucking week in and week out.

Congrats you were partially justified in your unwavering support of an nth-string quarterback. You've just earned the Eric Shelton "if only they'd let him play, he'd light it up" Award for the month of November. You've now earned the right to stand tall with the Armanti Edwards nut swingers.
