Fiz's 7 point plan

Agreed. I love how Gettis is really showing that he was by far the best player we drafted. LaFell is starting to come around, I like his progression. Keep in mind that the question you were given had a larger pool of answers than mine.

oh, and I have another one to add to the Clausen list: his first TD against against the saints. Along with his decent mobility to rollout/ scramble when things aren't there.

Agreed I had a larger pool but you asked the question not me.

Second, in no way is that a play that makes you think he has potential. He left the pocket early, threw the ball 31 yards, and Stewart had to turn completely around like a punt to catch it.

DWill can make plays when there aren't any holes.

That's why he stopped, turned around and lost yards against the saints to take us out of FG range for what would have been a possible win?

You also didn't react to the Clausen mobility in the pocket when I listed that as a positive.

Next Question, what do you expect a rookie QB to do when we have no RB's, no OL, and only rookies to throw to? Please tell me, because a 200 Yard game is highly improbable if Luck was in the same situation as Clausen.

Yes I will give DWill a pass on that because earlier in the game he did the same thing and scored a TD. So you choose which one you want him to do. Try and make plays or not try and make plays?

I don't think Clausen is any more mobile than any other QB on our roster. I think he flees the pocket when he doesn't need to, case in point his TD to Stewart. There was no need to run to the right, he simply could have stepped up and stayed in the pocket but he seems scared and runs outta there.

My expectations aren't that high. What us critics of Clausen have been asking for is very minimal. I just want to see a couple plays a game that give hope that he can be a competent QB in the NFL. I don't care about stats, I don't care about turnovers, I don't care about TDs.

I just want to be able to watch a game and when he is playing quarterback be able to yell "NICE" at some point. I don't want it to have to be followed by "...JOB JACKASS!" I want him to stay in the pocket and make a play downfield while taking one on the chin just so I know he has a pair. I want him to throw the ball further than 2 yards on 3rd & 8. I want him to let a play develop and not head for the sideline then throw it towards coach Fox. I want him to consistently be able to handle snaps. I don't want him to bounce the the ball on 6 yard curls. I don't want him to throw it as hard as he can to a RB 3 yards away. I don't want him to hesitate to throw the ball over the middle. I don't want him to hesitate to throw the ball deep. I don't want him to turn the wrong way when trying to hand it off. I want him to get the ball to our receivers and not just our RBs (Gettis, LaFell, and Smith had more catches in one game from Moore as they do in 3+ with Jimmy, okay maybe not but it seems that way). I want to see one sustained drive where he has to complete passes and we score a TD.

I don't need all of those things in one game. I just want 3-4 to show that he might be capable in the future. Someone needs to get in his ear and tell him to stop worrying about interceptions because 3 and outs are just as bad right now. Sadly I don't think things will change. I think we've been pranked on a wordly level and we just have to deal with it.

Of course he flees the pocket, I told you to begin with that he is scared = negative production. Watching him in practice, he makes all the throws with confidence, watching him on gameday he does get nervous and makes mistakes. Look, I'm not kissing his ass. But it's just illogical to give up on a QB who has his best days ahead of him, particularly once we get out of this horrific offensive system! We invested to much in him to not give him a chance. And by a chance I mean the rest of the season without benching him, not just 3 games. Let him sink or swim. But benching him hurts his confidence, which is clearly what he needs in the pocket.

We literally haven't invested sh*t in Clausen. His whole contract is worth less than Moore makes this year. With the way our FO feels about 2nd round picks it's literally nothing. With that argument we should have Stewart starting over DWill, Armanti over Gettis, E Brown...

Second, how can you say he has his best days ahead of him? Is it just because it can't get any worse?

Stop with this hopey/changey crap and give me something to base it on. I tried to ask you and you couldn't give me three good things he has done this year to give you hope. That's all I want. The Clausen supporters just "hope" "think" "feel" "heard" "..." that he will be good but the critics just say show me. Show me some things he has done. PLEASE.

It's pretty hard to show you something positive when he's only played 3.5 games in the leagues worst offense and is still going through growing pains.

No it's not. Even when Sanchez threw 20 picks there were some positives. Even when Stafford threw 20+ there were still something positive.

Jesus Christ man just be objective. If you can't name 1 good thing he's done from each game then he really shouldn't be out there or anywhere near a professional football team.

I am objective. I just don't understand why people call for the head of a single player when the team as a whole has done just as bad. And out of all of them Clausen has the least experience. Smith/Williams/Stewart have all fumbled, dropped passes, and made mistakes. None of them have had a 100+ yard game. Neither has JC. So why does the player who gives the same amount of negative production, yet has anywhere from 3-8 seasons less experience than those 3 listed get the blame?

I just want him to not be benched the rest of the season. It only hurts his confidence, and I'm sure coaches just let Sanchez & Stafford make mistakes without pulling them. (Not comparing, just saying). Just throw him into the fire and let him sink or swim. Ether he shows potential or he doesn't. My entire argument is that you can't judge him so soon.

It's too early to judge Clausen. Though I don't think we should have drafted him. Moore is clearly better at this point imo. We could have used that 2nd pick on a WR or a DT. We should have signed a Vet QB.

I was hoping we drafted Golden Tate. But when I saw them grab Clausen I was excited because we were officially starting a new era at QB, with 3 young guys who could all compete week in and week out and provide a spark for the team. So far the team hasn't been close to everyone's expectations, but I'm glad someone else agrees about it to early to judge Clausen.

I'm leaving this debate alone. Come January we will know if he progressed or didn't.
