Manning vs. Vick

But again, as they showed, he caught it, put both feet down and lowered his head. What if he used his helmet and knocked the defender down. When the defender went in to hit him, Collie dropped his pad level and put his head there. The defender didn't lead with his helmet either, it was shoulder first.

They could have just called the same thing on the Colts defender.

I was thinking the same thing... Refs seem to be pulling for the Colts in this one.

Also, LOL @ Phil Simms talking about Peyton Hillis: "It looked like watching ... (pause) ... one of those big old RBs from the 40s just running through everyone."

Why the 40s?

Because he's white. lol

All the CBS guys, including Sharpe agree that technically this was helmet-to-helmet, a penalty was questionable, but Coleman should not be fined. Sharpe even explained that as a receiver, that shouldn't even be a penalty... I agree.

They said that league office is saying the problem lies in that he didn't have the second foot down... that's really ticky-tacky IMO. So if his foot was 2" lower it would have changed that play? Stupid.

But, when Shannon Sharpe says it wasn't illegal, that should be enough. He knows about catching it in traffic and the hits you can take. I think 3 out of the 4 guys that played/coached on that panel said it was legal.

It was a legal hit. I think anyone that thinks otherwise needs to take the emotional aspect out of it. I love big hits but I have to admit, that one was hard to look at, and I think that's what people are getting hung up on.

Yeah but as one of them said, he had already crouched down and braced for impact. Therefore, he wasn't defenseless and the helmet contact was incidental as he lowered his pad level and the first hit knocked him past Coleman's shoulder and into his helmet.
