Clearly a penalty. You can't make contact with the helmet, the rules are very clear. No shocker that the fans are booing while Collie lay motionless.

Not a penalty. It was a vicious hit but not a penalty and shouldn't be fined.

Yeah, Philly showing what they're made of. I hate their fans, and pretty much the city in turn. Add to that Asante Samuels running around his body laying on the field yelling at the refs...

I'm kind of at a lost how you guys are saying it isn't a penalty. You can't hit the helmet, period. Especially helmet to helmet. You can argue all you want, saying Collie lowered himself into the hit, rules are rules, it is a penalty.

However, I agree there is no vicious intent in hit and therefore he shouldn't be fined, but he hit Collie in the helmet and that is a flag.

as far as the hit, look for another round of ESPN debates with people yelling and screaming. I don't think it was illegal. When the receiver becomes a runner---which it looked like-- helmet to helmet contact is no longer illegal. He wasn't defenseless

How classless are the fans in Philly? Collie is knocked unconscious and all they are doing is booing. Show some respect, he looked seriously hurt.

Especially when the same thing happened to one of theirs not too long ago.

I agree, no penalty... it was not malicious... it was a football play. I don't want to see guys get hurt, but it is football. That play, from the time he caught it to the time Coleman hit him was what, 1 second or less? No way Coleman could have altered his trajectory in that short time.

I did see him moving his feet laying on the ground, so I think he just got knocked out, at least I hope that's all it was.

Agreed, I guess. I don't know how you can avoid helmet to helmet, though, when he's coming at you with his.
