Through three: Falling fast

There's a temptation to laugh, it's gotten so ridiculous.

But at this point, the Carolina Panthers seriously might not have enough players to finish this game.

Already ruled out for the day are QB Matt Moore (shoulder), RBs Jonathan Stewart (head) and Tyrell Sutton (ankle), LB Dan Connor (hip) and DE Greg Hardy (head).

It's gotten so bad that rookie S Jordan Pugh is returning kickoffs, since they can't risk losing their only remaining rushing option (RB Mike Goodson).

Actually, the best run of the day might have been LB Jordan Senn's conversion on a fake punt, and he may get more work soon.

The Saints have pushed the lead to 27-3, such that it matters.

Jimmy Clausen threw an interception which was returned for a touchdown by Jabari Greer, but it's hard to blame him for all this.

The Panthers only goal at this point is to avoid the franchise low in net yards, which was the 113 gained at Buffalo on Sept. 10, 1995. That was the expansion team's second game.

At this point, Frank Reich and Derrick Moore don't sound like bad options.
