Just because someone gets crushed on a big hit doesn't make that hit illegal.

You wouldnt know an obvious cheap shot if you saw it. A dirty player coached by a dirty d-cordinator takes out arguably our best offensive player on a illegal hit.

You can't review a penalty.

You shouldn't be able to rule a play that has been blown dead either. But if they insist on getting every play called right, then you should be able to review all aspects of the game, including penalties.

I would have prefered Godfrey not playing deep and preventing the throw instead of a hit after a TD.

My last post on this: All of these illegal hit rules have to do with either defenseless players like receivers going over the middle or quarterbacks/kickers/punters. Unless you have something that's extraordinarily brutal, a running back running outside is fair game for just about anything.

Show me that in the rulebook. This isn't true at all. Geez, people are so confused about the rules now because of morons on the radio blabbering about things that aren't even banned.

In 1980, the NFL placed greater restrictions on contact in the areas of the head, neck and face. Players were prohibited from directly striking, swinging or clubbing a player in the head, neck and face.

A player could be called for a penalty for such contact even if the initial contact was made below the neck area.

I think it qualifies as a "strike to the head".
