Bobcats/Bulls Talking Trade for James Johnson?

I love D. Brown but it would take a long time I feel for him to get to Force's level of play. Gerald is a 20 and 10 guy at the 3. Not many other guys at SF put up those numbers. Look how long it took Gerald Wallace to finally become an all star. Only way you trade him is for someone who is a definite all star. Gerald is also leading the team in rebounds.

Yeah, I know, but I don't think it would take that long for him to get close to those numbers IF LB plays him. I think he's already more talented offensively than GW at that age, which is why I believe it took so long for him to become an all-star b/c of his offensive limitations.

No doubt, 20 and around 10 boards a game at the 3 is hard to match. BUT, that's exactly what I'm talking about in this scenario is trading for a legitimate go-to guy... It wouldn't just be any bum or taking a guess on somebody, unless we got multiple young talented guys.

Ok, I feel like if this is for Henderson then it might be sign that the next trade will involve Diaw. Maybe Johnson moves to the backup and Tyrus goes to the starting PF. But maybe that's just me.

And Bulls weak point is the SG position, but I doubt Henderson will bring what they are missing.

And another reason it can't be for just Diaw because the salaries don't match. Of course they could involve other players but nothing that seems fair/balanced.

Sounds like you're onto something. I just wonder why it's so quiet. Usually trade reports have more details to them, so I'm starting to wonder about the legitimacy of this trade... Then again, if it's for Hendo, it would make sense after the performance of their 2 guards last night.

We can't trade Wallace, unless we get someone crazy good in return. There is experts who rank Wallace higher than Carmelo, because the drop of defense you get in Melo is FAR greater than the upside of offense you will get. Wallace isn't the problem, he's the centerpiece, he should retire here. Not only that, we're talking economical, he's the only Bobcat people really know outside of Charlotte.

Brown may be good, but you don't take that kind of chance unless you have a lot of other guys stepping up on the team, which we don't.

Wallace is a one of the kind player, most likely, you won't find another player that can put up the points he does, rebounds, steals, and blocks at the SF position. His defense lets you do all kinds of things with your lineup. We'd look even more pathetic down low without Wallace.

That being said, I say we get rid of anyone except Wallace, and Tyrus.

What could they give us that would make up for the loss of Jax? I can see where if you are a bulls fan you would love Jackson on your team but I don't think MJ is dumb enough to give away our go to shooter for nothing special in return.

Yeah, one of the posters on there seemed pretty fair-minded, and said he didn't see how it could be anything other than Hendo for JJ straight up, and he felt that was a pretty good trade. But, 9 out of 10 of those guys were all jumping on the idea that they were going for Jack and how he is a the perfect fit for them/the missing piece to a championship run.

plus since both teams are over the cap their salaries don't match. so unless another team is added this won't happen(nor should it)

IMO a better piece for the bulls would be rip hamilton who is a more consistent outside shooter than jack

    • Fans are fed up with this organization's endless string of failures. And, while Morgan's less than a year into his current position, everything he's done is barreling down the same path shat out by his predecessor. If we're just pointing out this alarming lack of discrepancy between the performances of two GMs, it's really not hating. He's just proving to not be a good hire. And, hey, it's alright, because whoever Tepper hires next will, at best, only suck a little bit less. I don't mind people who are optimistic and hope Morgan turns out to be better than he's been thus far. That'd be great. None of us are rooting for him to fail. However, the embarrassing pattern of decisions persists. And it's not a good look.
    • You have to view everything that was done in 2024 through the ‘eliminate excuses for Bryce Young’ lens IMO. It only makes sense that way.     If you allow for that, you will see that Diontae fulfilled his purpose.
    • The Panthers' beat writer called the Johnson trade return "a warm bottle of RC Cola." If you're quick to discount every bit of news that disagrees with your view, maybe your view is the problem. Morgan deals himself a bad hand and he deserves every bit of criticism for it. Fitterer was the worst GM ever, but Morgan is a very similar brand of awful. Certainly when it comes to trades since 2021, Morgan's body of work makes him at best, only one of the worst negotiators in the history of North American professional sports. That's simply pointing out the numerous shortcomings he's put on display. If I point at a guy who shot someone and say "he murdered a guy," I'm not hating on him -- I'm pointing out what he did. If Morgan wants to not be labeled an incompetent clown who makes 31 other franchises better, simply stop being an incompetent clown who makes 31 other franchises better. Or, wait until Tepper makes him the fall guy after Evero.
