minecraft is pretty much the best game ever made

Ok, after reading multiple posts in this thread, I bought Minecraft Tuesday night.

All I have to say is... god damnit... fug you people.

I've lost about 12 hours of sleep over the past three days, I have a headache, I feel like jello, and I'm starting see block patterns in every day surroundings.

What this game lacks in sophistication it somehow makes up for in addictiveness. Once you get a stable home base and start REALLY digging around, when you see gravel or dirt cropping around stone, you just HAVE to dig it all out to see if there is something rare behind it.

Ugh... this is why I don't mess around with drugs... addiction is a terrible thing.

Just wait till you drop a stone block and see this

Yeah, I've hit diamond ore a number of times now. In fact, I had about 15 or so when I figured I should make some tools out of them and see how they work. Was I surprised how awesome they are for durability.

Then I got careless and ventured really far off from my home base. I found this huge cavern and dug and dug until I ran out of torches. I realized I was lost, so I tried to dig my way out and accidentally dug right into some lava! :(

And when I went back, I couldn't find where the hell I died... so I lost all my diamond tools. But now, I'm playing it safe and dug a mineshaft straight down to bedrock, and have branched out from there. I'm also putting cobble stone down as I go, so I have a path to follow back.

Damnit... I want to play now...

Whenever I see coal, there is just something in me that HAS to dig it all out. Even if I have 3 stacks of 64 of coal, I NEED to dig it.

Oh, anything with a color besides gray gets dug up. It' like playing a 3D pacman with stone and ore instead of pellets.

I read about Portals last night. I just wonder if The Nether is worth the risk.

When digging around and exploring caves, always place your torches to the right of you. Then when you want to get out you can follow the torches making sure they're always to the left.

I don't really play much anymore. I tried finding a good server to play on but it's hard to find exactly what you want.
