Yes, exactly. I'm hoping they factor into the game in some significant way.

There's so much potential for MC as a game. Right now, it's little more than a cube-based building program. If they make game play as interesting as the potion system or red-stone circuitry, it could be one of the greats.

My 11 year olds pretty much live for it. They build some pretty crazy worlds in it and invite their friends. It has held their attention for 3 years, something no other game has come close to.

 

 

It is more like a platform than a game imo. Its a canvas for other people to paint their ideas.

My son is obsessed, good thing we have a video game limit per day because he'd play it non stop. He is begging to let him make minecraft you tube videos. If there is a game he is going to be obsessed with I'd prefer this one where he can be creative.

This game is fuging amazing. If you're not a creative person however it is worthless...there is not really any 'winning', just creating.

Thanks to this thread I bought the pocket addition and played it for 6 hours today on my ipad.  I have no clue what I'm doing. 

 

When mining in the create mode do you ever find anything or do you just dig tunnels endlessly?  I found the mining part way more interesting than the above ground exploring even though nothing ever really happened for me.

Played this about 4 years ago. Unless you're on a private server with your friends(which is pretty much any and every game ever made) I dont see the alure to this game. There are better open world games to choose from. I do find that this game is very popular with kids though if that says anything about you op

I still play off and on.  Just recently started getting into the mod packs.  They make it seem like a brand new game.  The title of this thread is spot on even 4 years later.
