PFF on Dan Connor

Beason would be best at MLB and that leaves Connor out.

I agree... no way you dont put Beason back at MLB where he thrives & belongs once Davis is healthy.

It's about having the best 3 LBers at their respective positions on the field even if it means you have Connor on the bench!

Davis is better at WLB than Beason.

Beason is better at MLB than Connor.

Anderson is better at SLB than anyone else on the team.

Our best combination of LBers (when they are all healthy) is Davis, Beason and Anderson. I dont care what any website says or how they grade it. That's it.

Having Connor is a luxury and a nice insurance plan in the event any of them get hurt.

Hey, that's not a bad idea!

He's got worth now!!

We all know the panthers would rather pile up a good set of LBs than trade away the odd man out. They'll all stay, no matter what. The FO would rather have 3 above average LBs with 1 specialty position reserve, than 3 above average LBs and no reserve, and a player who would probably not make a huge difference somewhere else on the roster. Whether it's Connor or Davis they'd contemplate trading, neither would bring in a difference maker bigger than either of them are to this team currently and in the future.

Sure he might be the best MLB, but the OLB takes a significant hit. The sum of all parts is what is important and that article spells it out, all three are playing at an extremely high standard, especially considering the amount they are on the field. They obviously click together.

Last season Beason was the only LB we had on the team that they ranked in the positives beyond TD and he wasn't ranked that high. This combination is the best we have had in a while, why break it up?!

Connor is a force against the run, something that he IS better than Beason at. Another thing he does well is crash the holes and force FBs and other blockers to deal with him, thus freeing up the two OLBs.

says who??

says who??

I personally haven't seen anyone play the run like Connor has since Morgan, however it really is opinion stuff.

I just never saw Beason crash through the OLine with as much consistency as Connor has.

Regardless, the most important thing is who actually believe Davis is going to just carry on from where he left off... People are judging him based on his past exploits when he had half a superhuman season and a career of averageness. There is every possibility that he loses a bit of what makes him good, his explosiveness.

What I said. Davis is the odd man out right now. The notion of offering up Connor in a trade when Davis is one misstep away from ending his career is pretty short-sighted. Davis was a true Pro Bowl caliber OLB when he last set foot on the field for a full season. But he'll be lucky to get vet minimum next year when he begins looking for a job.

Don't get me wrong, I love the guy's game, but given the Panther's recent roster dealings how can anyone honestly believe the Panthers are going to go out of their way to keep him around?

I guess its opinion but Beason would be best at MLB. longterm I think thats where Beason needs to be. When Davis returns or we draft a WLB. Connor is the odd man out.IMO
