I'm seeing Walker in many, if not MOST, of the more recent mocks for the Panthers.  Here's my problem, He's not a tackling machine and that's what you want out of an ILB.  He's a 'tweener.  Are we playing him inside or outside?  Sack production is 'meh' for the outside, not so much a QB terror  and inside he's not a ball hound.   This is culminating to be a typical Panthers pick.  You see how 'tweeners end up here with the mismanagement of Jeremy Chinn.

The wildcard in this draft is Jaxon Dart. If a team thinks they can take someone like Carter or Hunter and then move back into the first, that might be a good day.  I could see the Giants doing it.

I would also watch the Colts--they have Daniel Jones on a one year deal and Richardson at QB, and I might even move richardson to a Cordell Stewart role (anyone remember slash).  They have their eye on Dart, watching to see if Sanders drops because of that Dollar Sign on his shirt--and he was recently seen at a Star Wars convention dressed as Chancellor Palpatine.

A trade down and netting an extra second would be YUGE for us though. If we do that and get Mykel or Donovan E. Call it a day boys (gender neutral term)

I think some of our visits suggest that is the plan if they can get the deal.

    • I just switched to prime video with fanduel south. Will I be able to watch the Canes playoff games still?
    • I mean, you can use that "logic," but the problem is that most practice squad players, backups or average guys don't put the play on film that Wharton did when given their opportunities.  Perhaps you'll end up right, but I don't think that just because a guy has been in a rotation makes him inherently less productive because he gets more snaps. I will say that the KC fans I've seen on social media loved him, and considered him their second best DT,  regardless of his "rotational" status, and generally considered him a dawg, so I'm going to give him the benefit of doubt until he shows otherwise.
    • Did I miss something?  The people we have developing players now are not the ones we've had in the past so I don't know what the heck people are talking about when they say we are not good at developing players right now.  We only have one year to go on.  Canales likes young players or players who are on an upward trajectory, especially in FA this year.  Past QB's and what he's done with Bryce are good examples. Tershawn Wharton - 26 Tre'von Moehrig - 25 Pat Jones II - 26 Bobby Brown III - 24 Michael Jackson - 28 Jaycee Horn - 25 Tommy Tremble - 24 We missed on Milton Williams but he's 26. Everyone else we picked up are on 1 year deals.  The Panthers new front office and Canales absolutely scream developmental team. Pick 8 (stay) Tier 1 Elite - Abdul Carter, Travis Hunter and Mason Graham Tier 2 Elite - Jalon Walker, Mykel Williams, Will Johnson Trade down: There are quite a few really good players that fit us at Edge, DT, S and WR mid to late 1st and high 2nd.  Some combos that would be possible that I really like.  Imagine getting 2 of these guys by trading down. Stark, Pierce Jr, Golden, Scourton, Grant, Emmanwori, Ezeiruaku, Umanmielen, Deone Walker, Harmon and this is just off the top of my head.
